as andy gray would say take a bow son, that tackle was absoulote incredible and that alone deserved man of match even though houghton was great.

That was one of the best tackles I've seen in many a year. Great drama too as it definitely save us one point and almost certainly two as I'm sure Dobson would've converted if Fox had scored.

For Briscoe to keep his head in such a situation and get his technique spot on was superb and showed really maturity. All this from a 20 year old!

We are very lucky to have this kid at the club.

The ground he made to cover was superb.
Also thought the Calders drag into touch was massive in the context of the game.

As was Berrigans tackle on fox.

That was one of the greatest tackles of all time and i think only Tom could of pulled it off.Take a bow Mr Briscoe.

Second only in my recollection to the great Arthur Keegans tackle on I believe Young the rovers winger in the 60's. He was diving for the corner and Keegan dived with him and hit him in to touch. Some of the other oldies on here may recall it.

Kemble on Meninga against the Aussies at the Boulevard? My menory might be wrong (was it Kemble? Was it Meninga? (Was it at the Boulevard)?

I've seen better tackles made but in the context of the game and situation it was just huge. The smile on his face after the game said it all for me, the kid couldn't stop grinning and even the Rovers players were congratulating him after the final hooter.

I could have kissed him,bloke or not.As Fox was running free on the right I said to my mrs ,"this is it." and waited for the inevitable try. What a tackle,will live in the memory.

As already mentioned, the amount of ground that Briscoe covered to put himself in a position to execute the tackle was unbelievable.

Once in that position, his technique was top notch, he covered the ball first and foremost and even if Fox had managed to get over the line he would have struggled to ground the ball.

That play from Briscoe required speed, strength, skill and also composer and he shoed he has them all in abundance. When you factor in that it was in the 79th minute of a derby game and if he doesn’t make it we potentially lose the game, then it has to be one of the greatest tackles you will ever see.

If he hadn't made it we would have lost the game. I believe Dobson would have kicked the goal.

This is what amazed me, the speed in which he ran to actually get there!

He was on the right hand side of the posts when the ball came down from the kick to cover. He then managed to get back to his left wing. Amazing.
