I suppose it could have, but, as another poster has already pointed out, two into one doesn't go. It would have been an equal (arguably greater) injustice for Whiting to lose his place, so someone was always going to be upset. The real argument should be why Turner has made the 19 and not Hall, IMO.

Simply utility value I'd imagine, particularly if Horne has taken a knock.

Turner MOM in the absence of Horne. Whiting had a massive game tonight - some really pivotal moments of reclaimed possession and try-saving defence. Very happy with Agar's selections tonight

Blunderside had him as MOM as well. Certainly seems to be doing well as back up halfback, which is excellent news as we thought we might struggle there.

Whiting is an excellent player, the thing about Rich is he will and does put his body on the line...And I will say it again top clubs [uwould[/u want him as he is a awesome utility player..

Was surprised Turner got MOM however he played well and this will boost his confidence further a very good prsopect.

With Calderwood looking like missing a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury, Whiting may get a chance on the wing. Four centres in the three quarters? It's the future.

Agree that Turner had a good solid game. MOM for me between O'Meley and Fitz, with Whiting up there too. Pleasing that we coped with the loss of Calderwood as well. A blow that he's out as he looked well up for it wilth some cacking defensive plays early on.

Maybe we should just sign another 13 centres and play them right across the park? It'll save any selection headaches.

You'd have to say that on current form he's the best utility player in SL, especially given the number of positions he can cover to a good standard.


He's certainly seizing opportunities to impress when they present themselves.

I'd have gone for any one of those three. I thought Berrigan played well too.



Yes. Swapped one of the fastest wingers in SL for one of the slowest! Considering we had a few different centre/wing combos on the RH side, it was an excellent defensive display.

In context of last nights game I think it's clear that the decision to play Whiting over Hall was justified. Whiting has a great game especially given the disruption to our backline. The game was a real slog in horrible conditions, in short the sort of game that does not suit Craig Hall.

He can play anywhere except prop.

And leave out Tickle who,arguably,has been our best forward so far and his kicking is superb atm.

I agree it would be wrong to leave Tickle out of the team the way he is playing. Having a great season so far.
