its not a downward spiral Wilf we are already in a big hole which we cant get out of.
Money and been able to pay for several quality players is the only thing that can get us out of this mess and we know Adam Pearson doesnt have the personal funds to be able to do it

| Alot of frustrated fans and rightly so.
Nobody knows exact figures financially, reading old articles Pearons very vague in the facts he gives.
Everyone presumes we pay £250k for rent.
The article states it used to be 20/30k annually when Hull city wernt in the premier league, but only shot up to £250k due to hull city playing premiership football.
My question is what happened to the rent figure when Hull City dropped back out of the premiership years ago, did that rent fee drop back down to 20/30k annually?
Its never been mentioned since city were relegated. Unless ive missed it.
How much was our covid loan?
And will the amount used to pay off the covid loan be used next season to invest in the team?
I think its about time a supporters group sat with Pearson and Smith and fired some direct questions.
Having it too cosy at the moment, with no transparancy given to fans , for future plans.
Plead poverty and then radio silence. CAN pearson push this club forward or is it being run down slowly but surely?

Aye, that’s why when you have to prioritise, you shouldn’t prioritise heavy investment in youth… unfortunately, the business case for it is rubbish for most clubs. which is part of why the talent development pathways across most of the sport aren’t very productive.

With regards the rent money, I vaguely recall reading something about it. I think it gets assessed every so many years ( not sure by who or what basis) and when it was last assessed it was when City were in the PL so it went up. Think they went down that season so it fell unluckily.
All a bit vague I know but I don't remember all the details. Hopefully it gets reevaluated again soon!

Never thought he was out special and been poor at Huddersfield. Can’t get in their team despite being on good money. Young lads like Wallis and Halsall keeping him out the team. Wouldn’t go near him.

Sadly I do think any of them will be ready to properly challenge.
Wainhouse is recovering well from his ACL surgery and has a pretty good attitude. He’ll be 18 by preseason, I reckon he’ll overtake Gardner in the pecking order and he’ll make a couple appearances.
Kye Armstrong is a tough one, he’s a talent but think there’s just a few players ahead of him.
I think Jack Charles will have a good future but needs to fill out and work on his defense.
Hodgson & Dawson probably 2 years away from challenging the team sheet I think

I’m obviously not saying he is going to have the same career but it’s clear he has modelled his game on Isaah Yeo as they have similar frames and both play that first receiver but with a run threat as well

I always thought our rent was 50% of all gate money, received above that from the first 7,500 fans. 7,500 being our average crowd during our last season at The Boulevard.

Think there was set figure plus percentage of gates after 7,500 plus the stadium got the fees from concessions. Cue Wilf (Pete). Not sure if the SMC still purchase 1000 passes

Yeah, been putting effort in away from ground as well. He’s moved over to Hull very young and clubs been doing a lot to help him mature.
Think he just needs to have physical development that comes early 20’s. That’s the same for a lot of our youth. As talented as some of our fringe players just not physical enough yet.

Exactly my point nobody truly knows, abit of transparancy is well.overdue
And appreciate the info on the younger lads, id read a few werw well thought of which is the ones ive listed. Just wonder if we l be youth orientated with promotions rather than senior signings. Sounds like most of those ive listed will maybe meed a loan before being blooded by us. So we may well see mainly new signings rather than a mixture as seen this season

That was what I remember from when we moved, and I seem to recall Hetherington/Rule using it as an excuse for not doing ticket deals as a bigger crowd didnt mean more income.
Details of the deal are confidential so Pearson can't openly tell us even if he wanted to. But at least we have someone who knows every clause as he signed it from the SMC side of the table.

Based upon the original deal, if still in place.
Assume average crowd is 12,500 (5k above the 7.5k base) and average admission is £20 (mix of adults, kids, concessions, offers)
Then 5,000 x £20 x 50% x 13 games = £650,000 per season to SMC, which sounds about right.
Not aware of any other fixed fee.
If this is correct, then as someone else said, the incremental benefit of extra fans is lower. For instance, reducing the Rovers away allocation would actually cost us £10k revenue per 1,000 tickets.

| Think Armstrong would have debuted by now if he was fit, still might at the end of the season.
Spoke to someone connected at the club, they rate Charles that highly he could be a regular next season.

I like the look of him, looks like he’s got a bit of a spark but him being a regular next year to me comes across as a cheap option.
Defensively doesn’t look ready to me and Wigan exploited that in the friendly. Although in his defence litten was defending at centre which probably exploited it more

They wouldn't be putting him in now if they didn't think he was ready, particularly when there are more experienced options. Think we will sign a 7 to play with Trueman and Charles will be the main backup.
