He played behind a well beaten pack. He did pull ot a masterful 40/20. I wouldn't write him off by that game.

We lost our way when we lost Shaul, I knew we would when I saw Shaul off and Griffin to full back, I was surprised we didn't conceed 50.

Fair play to Warrington, they played well from the off and were deserving winners. Their line speed didn't give us a chance to make many metres and without Taylor and Satae, we found that area tough going.

When given a chance to stake a claim for a place in the team, then you should be doing better than what Swift did, get him off our wage bill.

A chance hopefully for young Wynne at full back now.

Conner hasn't performed once when starting in the halves, he's constantly looked like a square peg in a round hole. He's a top earner at this club and needs to start producing on s regular basis, personally I'd cash in on him.

I wonder if the club actually made Kelly an offer to stay , He might re-think about leaving !!!.

It's a tricky one this , Been left with two halves who rarely perform constantly . New Coach and new broom and all that .

I think Kelly has been wanting to return home for a few years I don't see him changing his mind. We need to look at getting in a genuine leader, someone respected and admired by fellow players. Despite his age Benji Marshall ticks those boxes, we need a talisman.

Agree with your statement on Connor. We had no one managing the game and I don’t see him bossing it. I like him as a player but he’s annoying gob e which I love when he’s needling the opposition but he’s been seen chirping at his team mates. Being a gob e doesn’t afford you automatic authority or respect. We must play him in his best position but he wants to be in the halves. I’d put him in the back but he may just sulk.

If your assessment of him is accurate he’s not the sort of person any team would want in their side.

He might think about leaving for another S/L club where he can showcase his skills

Then as several others have said get rid whilst he is under contract.

His best position is centre but he still lacks the pace to be classed as a top centre

Last is following the same Radford approach with him playing limited minutes off the bench.
playing 20 minutes is not good enough
Last game 6 mintues before half time and approx 15 minutes in the second half with very few carries.
If you need to build someones engine then you have to play for longer.

Confirm it was 8. We received 2 in each half. Warrington 3 in first half and 5 second.

FC obviously mess about a lot at the play the ball. Teams tend to do that when they are losing.

For me the loss to Warrington just showed more evidence that for far too long Hull FC coaching has relied on individual player talent rather than implementing and instilling playing structures into the team ethos. Its clearly evident that once we lose a couple of key players we struggle in game situations as we just do not look like an organised team and it the fall back is back to individual play, When you look at St's for example they can lose a number of key players yet the still play to the same style and structure and players that come in slot in as though they are regulars. This just doesn't seem to happen with Hull as it just looks like they've never played together.
This is another reason why we are probably so inconsistent as we rely on the performance of individuals rather than the sum of the components in the team.

The philosophy has to change and Last as interim and/or whoever will be the Coach needs to put proper structures in place so no matter who plays we have purpose and a clear idea of what we are doing in the 80 mins.

I seem to remember something Peter Gentle said while he was here in an interview about something along these lines in that the players we had at the time were struggling to grasp what he was asking them to do and change the way we play and just wonder if this is what he meant and was trying to change.

There were some very strange refereeing decisions though.

For example, Griffin jumps for a high kick, the ball is stripped from his arms while he's still in the air, and Thaler says Griffin knocked on.

It isn't just from our game, but this six again from the referees is making the game a calamity. We want intense, close games. This is just killing players, the spectacle isn't great. They have gone overboard on the six again infringements. You can't tell me that all of those would be given as penalties in a game pre-lockdown?

I agree it’s like basketball, but we’ve got to get better at it, Thaler is probably the best referee we have, so god knows what will happen with the rest of the officials.

Agreed. At one point I heard “set restart.... Albert Kelly” three times in a row. If Kelly gave away three penalties in a row Thaler would’ve given a team warning surely?
