If we don't get any more injuries I'd like to think we have too much for Salford and Widnes at home then we should be getting some bodies back

It is that simple. I am sure that we would now survive even if we don't win again.

Look at the sides below us. Leeds are dire but should find 2 wins to overtake us, as should Wakefield. So take those out of the equation.

So that leaves the following teams needing to win:

Huddersfield: 4/7
Salford: 5/7
Catalans: 5/8
HKR: 6/8
Widnes: 7/8

At least two of those sides need to achieve those targets for us to end up in the bottom 4. It simply won't happen. There is an outside chance of one of them putting a run together, but then that weakens the challenges of the other sides because they play each other in most cases and it means the others are dropping points. As we stand now I am 99.9% sure we will make the top 8. If we beat Salford that becomes 100%.

And besides all the stuff I wrote earlier about what other teams need to do, I expect us to win more than we lose in our last 7 games anyway.

I like discussing the Middle 8s. We could do with a whole lot more Zen on here. Both the spiritual tranquility and that clever posh computer on Blake's Se7en.

Even if we do manage to avoid the disastrous scenario of being in them ourselves they are absolutely of relevance for next year's competition as those clubs in them face another round of recruitment and retention challenges that those making the 8 will seek to exploit.

Hand on heart, do you really see us being part of the middle eights drama.

With Bowden, Griffin, Carlos, Talanoa, Sneyd, and Abdull missing the next 7 games (plus Connor and Kelly are doubts), then winning a couple more games won't be as easy as some people believe.

And leeds and cas's form won't help if the bottom 4 pick up points we'd have expected them to drop.

It's certainly a possibility - YEP discussing today that Leeds are at risk so why we wouldn't be I don't know. The bottom teams apart from Widnes are upping their game whilst we are losing players long term left right and centre. Assuming we are safe is either complacency or arrogance IMO and I hope we don't fall into the trap Warrington and Leeds did previously.

I think I would be a tad arrogant if I didn't think it was a real possibility, for in our current quite unprecedented demise injury wise it becomes pretty feasible. I have been on about it since the injuries sustained in the Cas game and last weeks win over the hapless Rovers was a massive two points for me.

When really young or inexperienced players get a sustained run in a team they start well but often find it hard to sustain that level of performance but for the next 6 weeks that's all we have really. Although as a previous poster has pointed out you are counting on the bottom 4 winning just about all their games and they do play each other in the next seven matches, but it is certainly a distinct possibility and when Salford Widnes and Rovers arrive at the KCOM they will be really desperate for the points so the sooner we get another two or three ourselves the easier I will be. However going through the next 7 games without getting any at all has to be a possibility.

I accept that we could lose all 7. I think it's extremely unlikely, but stranger things have happened. But I don't think that 2 of the current bottom 5 can win enough games for it to matter.

unless we get more injuries imo I think we still have enough in our squad to win 3 more matches,

once we get Bureta and Kelly back the balance of the side will be better.
Connor can go to centre and we will look stronger in the outside backs.
I think we will finish 6th or 7th. We may not win it from there, but with the players returning at the back end of the season we may shake things up a bit.

Do you really expect the bottom 4 who have won an average of 3/4 games out of 15/16 to suddenly win 5/7 get real your safe lets put this nonsense to bed

It only needs Huddersfield, salford and cats (with a game in hand) to win 4 games, and they'll all catch us up.
And only 2 of them need to.
So that's 2 teams out of 5, not 4 out of 4.

Leeds, cas and wakefield are already close enough to us (and have games in hand).

Can’t believe the negativity on here , not sure if it’s to wind certain people up ! At the minute the table doesn’t look that bad, and surely with weeks passing by we’ll start getting bodies back . Even at the split , if we’re within touching distance of 4th and with a fully fit squad , I’d still fancy us to win get to the grand final / win it .
