Can't help but agree with the points 1865 makes about Shaul but we don't have a specialist for him to learn from, McDonnell would have being ideal and yes SM is the better all round FB by far. As I pointed out last season Shaul had a habit of pulling out or not bothering with tackling on the line, that's a mindset issue not one about bravery, his passing can be improved as can positioning but that needs a coaching team to be able to identify it it and a coach to actually implement modifications & improvements, again, that's not something we currently possess as a club.
All that said, Shaul isn't the worst by any stretch, probably could be a top 6 FB with work/experience, he's still young but we do need to get him under the wing of someone that knows what's what, that could be applied to quite a few in the squad though tbh.

Sure the result and the scoreline were disappointing but the performance was probably better than the Good Friday derby, the second half of the home league match v Leeds, the cup match v Leeds, Salford away, Huddersfield at home and Wakey away.

I agree, i'm far more frustrated than them games though. There seemed to be an attitude of 'we've done what we set out to do this year' for 70 minutes of the game.

I never said anything about how I rated Shaul. Just pointing out what our owner said about him last night. As it happens I don't rate him all that highly myself ATM but he has time to improve. And frankly I'd have him over Escare and possibly Dorn even now.

Shaul aint that bad at all. Jeez. His link play needs work. Thats all. His 1on 1 aint to bad. His instinctive support play is top notch. Has some x factor about him and been really good under the high ball

If Shaul was available which I believe he will be, most clubs would want him and would want to pay big. He's a massive talent, he just has that kind of ability. What's genuinely annoying about the whole thing is that although he's a bit rough round the edges he's improved other areas of his game and for all he's critised not exactly a liability, which IMO even if he was would be worth carrying for his ability in broken play alone, and there's still time to improve.

When he is sold it will be a sad indictment on the coach, the owner and by judging by some fans opinions that famous 'Hull fan' mentality that has contributed to many talented young players downfall.

I was talking to Yeaman yesterday, was a really good bloke with a good attitude, said he doesn't think he will play centre this season as Logan should play there, is targeting the backrow for the rest of the season and next.

Should be targeting retirement IMO. No way is he an SL standard backrow.

Its getting hard to remember but ive not had a problem with it. Heard a story regarding his attitude.But he isnt the only kid to be a bit full of himself and hes paid the price. Id start playing him now though. Rankin isnt here yet and I might be alone but rankin isnt all that. More time goes on more things stand out to me about his game and since he ain't here next anyway shaul should start playing. Maybe even play naughton so shaul has extra to think about in the offseason and create more competition

He and the club think he has something to offer, most of his salary will be off cap, I reckon as a back up centre and backrower he will be ok.

As a starting centre yes, as a squad player with hardly any money on the cap it's not a bad move.

I'd have no problem giving Yeaman a 1 year deal on a reduced contract but only as a squad player. Even after we sign another 3/4 we are still a little short of numbers in that department. Interesting that he see's his future in the back row.
