James Grant in the Easter 1994 derby at The Boulevard.

Sweeping movement from a scrum roughly on half way. Grant took the ball about 40 years out and arced past the rovers defence.

It also sent rovers down.

Why was the Tom Briscoe try so good? Any winger worth his salt would have scored that surely? The one Raynor got at CP WOULD have been the best one i've seen, Vaikonas is also etched in the memory.

Not as good as Fletchers face when he leapt and scored the final minute winning try

It was his second try where he was arm aloft, not his hat trick try

Lad, bearly out of school, first derby, picked the ball up off his toes, beat four rovers players with pace and smart footwork.

loved the tom briscoe try, sat in the east stand watching him set off with 5 dobbins trying to catch him... amazing try.
also any try yeamo scores, he loves scoring against them, hopefully get a few more on the winning team next season... fingers crossed.

wileman didnt actually beat fairburn for that try, he shot through from acting half and georgie girl was way out of position so 'all' he had to do was pin his ears back and run for the line

Not against the dobbins but Ronnie did make a complete ass of Georgy girl when he was still at Wigan - scoring a 40 yard try at the Boulevard, breaking from dummy half and running around Georgy. So he alreaady knew he had him beaten for pace before the JP final.

I remember a Gary Pearce try at the O C P, A Dummy then scoot to the try line.......classic Pearce !!!

Lol, it's okay, was just seeing if would be picked up on and pointed out that Test-level ace Byron Ford did it 10x worse against Cas in 2005!

O/T Did Mark Johnson (the guy who Fletcher outjumped) stay after that year

Remember a mate at school rating him highly but wasn't sure if Walsh let him go.

Johnson played in our first Super League season.

The Derby at CP back in 1984 had a couple of classy FC tries in it. Rovers were champions (we even gave them a guard of honour pre game) and was expected to be lambs to the slaughter but as in good old fashioned Derby spirit we handed them their backsides with a great attacking display from our International class back line.

Ahh, now I remember. That was the end of 83-84. I was thinking early 84-85.

Yeah, Hull got some good tries that day. We'd won the title with games to spare & didn't bother turning up for the last couple of matches.

Not the best but what about Steve Cravens try at the Boulevard, think it was the season we went back up. Bizzare try for a prop, a lightning diagnal run to the Threepenny corner from about 30 metres.

Decent try that. He could move for a big lump.

David Laws at the Boulevard was the best try I've ever seen. Other than that plenty of good derby tries, just can't think of any exceptional ones for either side.
