You promote coaching staff from within when things are going well. If they're going badly you look elsewhere for fresh ideas / change of direction.

Nail on the head, a club is generally confident that the assistant has learnt enough from the success of the head coach for them to be able to take the reigns. This situation beggars belief it really does

Its called choices and Paul Cooke made his choice , we as fans have a choice to either go or not go IF Paul Cooke is there.I for one will not be going .You want to go its your choice .

Agree 100%. I'd also add that if one member of your coaching team is very inexperienced, it's a good idea if some of the others are not. Putting three hugely inexperienced coaches in charge at a time like this seems borderline suicidal to me.

When Paul Cooke first left I was fuming and in an article in the hdm he said if anyone fan wanted to know the truth just ask him , I was slightly worse for wear one night in crown pub on holderness road and I thought here's my chance and headed towards his table and as I got close I knocked his pint off the table and all over him . He told me his reasons behind his choice to leave and he didn't punch me in the face for soaking him so I forgave him .

The question is whether Cooke can do a better job with our attacking structures and pivots than Gentle IMO.

Structure was never an issue for me. We just lacked the ability to execute it effectively. How many times did a ball go behind the man? Or the second pivot get caught easily because of our slow passing?
Our forwards inability to get up and play the ball quickly was just as big a problem.

Good point, however we are a club who supposedly has aspirations for top 4 so why on earth would we take such a risk with a guy who has hardly any coaching experience ? One could argue Sean Long is even more experienced with offensive play than P. Cook however we have all witnessed what has happened to his coaching career. If we are not skint why on earth do we appear to be taking cheap options ?
