On a plus side we only have to play 2 games in the whole of June so all being well we should be full strength for the back end to the season.

Good news. However we've got good squad depth so lets use it, Bowden in for O Meley, tickle for green and crookes for briscoe. No need to risk players when we have more than adequate cover waiting in the wings.

No point risking for me Give Crookes and Bowden a chance to show their worth.

Is Briscoe's injury a chance for Crookes to cement a regular place? Brisc has been below his usual standards this year

Briscoe has had no service whatsoever on that side, Yeaman was out injured for a while and even so that side is missing Big willie. Tom is a winger and can only do part of his job if those inside do their's, he's chased back and saved tries (Bradford at home was immense), taken up the ball with aplomb getting us on the front foot more often than not (and/or winning us penalties). Fans just either like to have a moan or just can't actually see what is going on. Just because he hasn't scored 70-80m tries with 3 tackle busts along the way doesn't mean he isn't adding a valuable contribution to the team.

Think it was Charlie Mullen who tweeted this straight after the Leeds game, followed by James Smailes that both appeared to have suffered bad injuries.

Great news that both injuries now appear minor and regardless of whether they make Catalan should defo make Castleford. We're so used to bad news but this follows on from Watts & Westerman both back earlier than expected. Good stuff

I wasn't talking about running in huge tries. I'm talking about the fact he has just looked completely out of some games. Even his carries from dummy half have been below his usual standards. Not saying he's been terrible at all. Just below his OWN standards. It's just nice for once to have competition for places.

I think he has done ok in this regard. Its just now other teams have done their homework on this and warp him up quickly. If you look on YT at the rover game in 2011 and 2012 or the St's game in 2011, some of the dummy half breaks Briscoe makes are from quick play the balls. He hasn't had so many opportunities as the right flank has got a lot of the ball this term.

His metres are amongst the best in league for his position, so are his tackle busts and according to opta stats prior to this weekend was the 1st S L player to win 50quick play of the balls this season.

Ellis must be the quickest player of the ball we have. If I were Briscoe I'd be following him all over the shop.

One of the qualities that O'Meley has is that when he is tackled he often gets into a position where he falls on his front and doesn't get turned over easily, leading to a quicker play the ball.

I suppose its having all the elements come together at once. Ball carrier dominates the ruck having just bent the line and your strong / fast lad is in the right place to be at dummy half.
