I get the feeling that the reaction towards McGuire is because of who he is and who he plays for. If it was one of ours that did it your opinion would be a lot different. Of that, i am sure.

Exactly right mate, he's paid to give his opinion and he's biased towards his own team but for me he never really goes overboard with it. People need to grow up tbh, McGuire was in the wrong last week yet because he's ended up injured people have turned on Phil Clarke.

Because of what he's said, FFS. McGuire didn't do anything others wouldn't.

It's a horrible injury but the simple fact is if he didn't cheat to win the game he wouldn't have got injured, I've said similar things this week so I won't criticise Clarke. I'm not saying I'm glad he's injured though.

and in doing so he's been injured. He took a risk, it paid off for the result and it didn't for him. It's life.

No player deserves injury. No matter what they've done.

That's a pretty difficult point for you to back up with any real evidence. I suspect there are plenty of players who wouldn't do it - we don't see players being taken out off the ball on every break that is made. Granted it does happen sometimes but not all the time.



I might be disappointed that one of our players was injured whereas with McGuire I'm ambivalent because he's nowt to do with my team. But if one of our players got injured trying to haul down an opposition player off the ball I would neither criticise him nor show him any sympathy.

Injuries happen in any facet of the game but as a player you are bound to attract little sympathy if you are deliberately fouling an opponent when you are struck down. If McGuire hadn't tried to illegally take out an opponent he would be playing next week. Of that you can definitely be sure.

Can't agree that it's a disgrace at all. The OTT reaction to what Clarke has said is funny though.

McGuire would have caught Carmont about three yards after taking the pass from Richards, yet his first instinct was to cheat. He injured himself in the process of cheating, tough titty.

Agree with that. Nobody [uwishes [/u injury on any player but neither do I have much sympathy with a player injured in the act of such brazen cheating.

This thread reminds me of Mock the Week the other night - 2 complaints before Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand hit the news, several hundred afterwards. People heard that other people were offended and thought they would be offended too, so logged on, and too their surprise were offended and complained.

So, can I go on record before we get the usual "disgraceful" and "shocking" comments and say, for the majority of Rugby League fans up and down the land that I really don't give a monkeys.

On the money. McGuire is a cheat and a whiner. Always got to much to say for himself. It's creeping into our game. Gonna end up like football if it's not stamped out.

would of loved to have seen mcguire red carded while being stretchered of ,now that would of been class ,the cheating scumbag ,Clarkies a legend ,may we all bow to him

Well I get the feeling that people simply forget the critical stage of the game when McGuire decided to cheat. It blatantly robbed Wigan an oppertunity to win a very important game. There was more than 2 points at stake and an act of blatant cheating denied Wigan the oppertunity to finish of a break naturally that they had created.

I have never wished any player an injury, well maybe one or two

, but I do remember thinking at the time that McGuire should have been shown a red card as he was being stretchered off, and if he was injured then it served him right.

I don't really see the problem with Phil Clark's comments.
