Jesus if you expect him to defend 3 men on this own every time your crazy. He was off tonight but no way was he woeful or out of position.

Whiting may have been slightly out of position, but you can't blame him for the massive overlap that occured, that wasn't his fault, nor was the fact that at least 3 of their tries came from a forward pass. It'd have been painful watching Hall in that position. Whiting's far superior, and had a decent second half, I thought.

yeah his second half was much improved, didnt see any forward passes TBH, but at that point in the game i had my head in my hands, fearing a humiliation!! how wrong was i? best 2nd half iv seen for a very long time!

I've said it all year. Our wingers/centres are over exposed far too easily by the middle defenders being dragged in, but then again, hall is a scapegoat and whiting isnt

Hall gets mainly criticised for his errors and Briscoe generally gets criticised for not dealing with the high ball. Anyone blaming a winger for not dealing with a 3 man overlap is not worth bothering with anyway.

hmmmmmmmmmmm whiting is never shocking,made a mistake or two, but hey so what.

Hall gets blamed for every try scored on his side of the field. Someone actually blamed him for the two late tries that Cas scored when we were down to 12 men just the other day. Briscoe got tweaked during the Cas game when the situation was similar to tonight. With Whiting people are more willing to take the other factors into account.

But why make a substitution just for the sake of it. Our forwards won the game tonight and it was the rotation of them that allowed us to keep that dominance throughout the 2nd half. Hall would have been used if one of the outside backs got injured but no one did so he was required.

He does make some rash decisions, poor attempts and get caught out though. Hell of a lot more than Whiting/Briscoe do

Trouble is mate Hall regularly takes the wrong option when there isn't an overlap. That's why he gets criticised and rightly so. If he didn't do it he would be a far far better player.

I said to a mate earlier that if Hall had 4 tries scored down his side he would be slated but Whiting would escape critiscism. Whiting had an extremely poor defensive game today.

Yes wasn't one of Whiting's best for sure. Washbrook's attempted tackle on Meli in the second half was poor as well.

Whiting's kick chasing late in the game was superb, and it was no surprise that he came up with the ball from the short kick off at the end.

Meli was a handful all night wasnt he.

Defensively in the first half we looked suspect all over the park.

Agreed Meli seemed very up for it tonight, wanted a confrontation it appeared with anyone who tackled him (that's when we managed to of course)

Burnett would have been a better option on the bench, Whiting was poor tonight by his usual standards.

We made him look a damn sight better than he is last night. All he had to do was stay on his wing and wait for the ball. It's no secret we're weak on the fringes. Would hope at least outside back is on next season's shopping list.
