Well before the game I would certainly have taken a point if offered given how well Cas have been this season. But it really does feel like a point lost for me. 18-4 up with 15 minutes to go should have been enough for victory but I had a sinking feeling from the moment Cas scored that we'd blown it. Game management by that point was poor and hopefully this is something that Sneyd and Pryce can correct next year.

On the plus side though the players put in a good effort last night. I don't think that anyone can say they didn't try last night. Our attack needs to be more ruthless as I feel we could have got a few more points on the board and it was our left hand side that ultimately cost us the points (so it's not just Crooks to blame there!). Rankin was a big loss I thought as Azza (as we all know) is not a half and like many have said already I think if Rankin had stayed on then we might just have won that. He and Abdull were great in the halves last night.

Any further news on their injuries yet? I can't imagine either will be fit for next week. Are we looking at Azza and Horne in the halves next week do we think or is Miller maybe going to be recalled from Donny?

That is good news, although whiplash can take a long time to clear up. He could easily miss the rest of the season.

our passing at times is atrocious - too many looped passes which take an age to get to the players. Compare that to Clark last night - fizzing passes out of acting half and gets the attack on the front foot.

Also - I thought Hadley in attack was poor last night. Twice our players had to wave him to run a drop off - once Shaul, and then another by Ranking, who ended up losing the ball.

If the half back is running across the line, then the 2nd rower should drop off, not carry on running with Rankin

Thought Rankin was superb last night before his injury, such an elusive runner and good hands (other than his mistake). I have a feeling that he could be used to great affect next season as a foil to Sneyd. I have a horrible feeling that Pryce is going to be injury riddled.

There are plenty onthe TV that advertise every bloody day.....you just can't watch TV without one popping up. I hope that Abdull gets better for you soon.

What is so irritable, is that we never see any improvement, week in week out.
and to cap it all, it is so easy fixable, with the right technical coach.

Houghton is great when we get quick play of the ball, quick from the mark. but in recent weeks he seems to dither around before passing it, doesn't do it straight off the ground which is what he did last season, he also went wider with first pass missing first receiver which seemed to work better.

Yeaman's try second half came about from a cracking sharp, fast, accurate delivery from acting half by Rankin. Quality in that area buys the outside backs so much time.

The worrying thing for me was how the rest of the team panicked when Rankin got injured. There was quite a few experienced heads out there who should have settled things down.

Aye a quick ptb and pass from acting half is a great help but what doesn't help is we then throw the ball outwide far too slow and our players 'crab' across the pitch waiting for a pass instead of running a line for the ball handler. The amount of times our backs run out of room is a joke!

Not only slow but the attacker doesn't pull the defenders in before passing.Ok you have to take a hit now and again but its how you create the space.

Better than expected, but Cas brought about a 1,000, so that means <1K paid on the day in the home ends.

Cas fan here. You deserved to win. If we had kicked the last conversion it would have been robbery. We were far and away the best team in the last 10 MINUTESthe other seventy you were the better team and thus deserved the win. I actually, believe it or not, thought the referee had a good game. Mr Child has become an easy target for all teams, but thought he got the vast majority of the decisions right last night. Watching it on TV I scrutinised all the calls. The penalty count was heavily against us initially, but viewing them, they were all, apart from one were justified, and that could only be detected after close scrutiny by the TV cameras. Some of our fans may call the ref, but what they need to question is why some of our players blatantly reefed the ball out, right in front of him on the 5th and last tackles, which showed up clearly on TV. If we play the percentages, we should know we have at least a 75% chance of getting the ball back on the last tackles. Giving ourselves another set to defend unnecessarily is just plain stupid.

At first I thought he was taking us back more than you, but again after close inspection this was not the case. As soon as we played the ball, your lot were moving straight up and closing us down, We either did not move up or did not start doing so until the first or second receiver had it, allowing you to run at us. That contrast in defensive line speeds, summed up the first 70 minutes you were much more on the ball than us.

It would be easy to criticise our own team, but their is an old adage, which is you are only allowed to play as well as the opposition allows, and you did not allow us. You have been going through a bad time, so deserve credit when it's due. Unfortunately I think you just ran out of bodies at the end.

Not too bad for a Thursday night TV game and given our form but almost 1,900 down on last season's fixture.

Current average attendance is 10,356. We need about 34,750 from the last three games against Saints, Rovers and Leeds to avoid finising with the lowest average since the move to the KC.

Their collective confidence is shot, and there's only so much the experienced players can do. Ellis lead by example all night and I actually thought we held it together better than I feared we would, but we're so used to losing these tight games that it becomes part of the mentality. Nothing will change that except picking up some wins I'm afraid.
