Holdsworth is not good enough and by the way, under McRae, we never won a playoff game (Did we even reach them)? Never got to a CC final. The style was dire, that's the reason we won feckall during his famous "5 year plan".'"
Yes, in 2001, 2002 and 2004.
Pretty unlucky in 2001, losing 24-27 at Wigan then 20-24 at home to Saints (with the dodgy foot-in-touch try to Saints).
We lost to Wakefield of course in 2004 but were without Jason Smith, Richie Barnett Paul King and Richard Horne. Cooke played but wasn't 100% fit (didn't take the goal kicks). A fully fit squad would've made Old Trafford that year. We'd only lost four league games up to mid August but then lost three in a row when injuries hit.
To say we were dire under McRae is, to be frank, complete horse.

Under McRae we played some of the best RL I have seen from an FC side. We scored plenty of points and if not for some chronic luck with injuries at the business end of the year would have reached a GF I'm certain. Go watch some season highlights from those years if you don't believe me.'"
Loved that season and the chants of "there's only two Richie Barnetts" would love a centre of his quality back at the club again

That loss to Saints Tony Martin should have either been binned or sent off if i recall correctly and then had a hand in the try that won it for them!
The Wakefield match it all went wrong just after the half time break when Korkidas did a barnstorming run and it lifted their full team and seeed to put doubt in our pack and we were winning at half time in that game

Who had his head in touch in the lead up to thier winning try....remember the Korkidas run but we had cooke playing strapped up and half the team in the stands including Jason Smith, who could dismantle a team on his own.

| No, it was shiiite. The amount of times I drove down that M62 to Hull after a hammering at Bradford and Saints was ridiculous. We won nothing at all under him.
As for calling people thick, isn't that against the AUP?

| we played entertaining rugby under mcrae most of the time, i can't see many hull fans coming on here denying that statement. might not have won anything but we were good to watch (smith, barnett, prescott, best, horne, cooke - don't really need to go on)

I went to nearly every game during that period and was sick and tired of getting beat and nowhere in cup runs. Since he went, we reached finals.

Well Bradford were knocking ten bells out of everyone around that time. As for Saints, our results at Knowesley Road were (our score first) 14-27, 34-38, 14-33, 18-28, 16-30 - hardly hammerings. Our home results over Saints under McRae were 20-28, 34-28, 20-24, 30-32, 30-6, 42-18, 34-6.

We were only hammered once at Saints under McRae.
We took about 3 hammering at Bradford in 5 years.
Under Kear, we were hammered at home against Saints (to nil). We were also hammered at Bradford twice in one season (71-0 being one).
We've only won one trophy. And we were cr*p in the league that year.
You really are talking out your arris. Are you thick or just trolling?

Oops, sorry you are right. I forgot we played them away twice in 2002 - we lost the other one 64-10
Still, not a bad record overall against a good club.

The only thing you need to avoid is posting utter nonsense and then getting upset when challenged. And not by any 'clique' either - a wide variety of posters have disagreed with you.
In fact I'd go so far as to say that you're the only person I've even seen or heard claim that we played boring rugby under McRae. Which leads me to suspect that you just don't like the bloke and blame him for all our problems. Which is fine, but don't expect folk not to pull you up on it.

64-10 I believe.
Our 2004 side was brilliant. We were 2nd after 22 rounds. McRae then went on compassionate leave after his father died IIRC and Kear led the side to 3 defeats from 6 against the previous year's bottom 6. Not to mention injuries.
Other than 2006s run to the GF, what other year comes close to the entertainment that year? Definitely 2004. And anyone that says 2005 clearly didn't go to the league games.
