Agree on all other points, I still think there is a good halfback in Sneyd, but he needs more confidence and have a partner playing with him (Not at the other side of the park) Mellor and Brown play together and it makes a difference.'"
Not rocket science is it, Pryce as played that way for 17 years and still Radford continues with this unsuccessful attacking style!!

| Just checked sports news and this site and so disapointed that there is still no positive news coming out the club that Radford has gone.
Fed up of hearing the same excuses from him and the players.
This is Radford's team now but yet the same old frailties remain.
Would like a new coach ASAP in order to steal a march on recruitment over Rovers and Wakefield and in order to salvage the season and rejuvenate the players as all is not well with this club and we as fans do deserve better.

| just my thoughts from this morning having not seen the game only listened to radio and interviews
I am hoping the players .. senior ones did take the responsibility after game and asked radders to leave along with staff so they could have a good sort out between themselves. clearly not all gave 100 % . I refrain from massive comment as not seen game but by all accounts (shaun briscoe was very inciteful on radio humberside.... much better than usual radio rovers crap. ) our halfs were very poor and theirs excellent . brown playing in a dinner jacket and sneyd making all wrong options. Abdull unfortunately appears to not have sorted out physical fitness issues and had a very poor kicking nite. wondered why having given him the 13 shirt we had not seen him.. radders comments about so so pre season now make sense. we appear to have a large problem defending wide out as a team structurally and with individuals jumping out leaving easy holes on wing ..seen it in all games.. even salford and cats scored all tries out there.
I want radders to succeed and I hope the players back him with a good stuffing of wakefield - it is the only way he will remain. I always said 10 games to decide if radders can get best out of this top squad he has assembled and have accepted nature of last 2 defeats was about poor game management and indiscipline in close finishes against top 6 teams . however last nights attitude and aptitude was a massive negative and i fear a wakey loss at home would have to be the end. I believe this team will react ,stuff wakey and give him a stay of execution but I am sure pearson will have doubts now about this seasons success and we will be on red alert for a while. As for replacements i would prefer to see radders take assistance (from above !) and my favourites would be noble or kear from what is easily available in UK.
there is no doubt this squad has been financed by pearson on basis it achieves top 6 and good cup run. I still believe the squad is deep and strong enough to achieve the minimum goals set . the question is who will drive it to reach its full potential ?
Mr peason will unfortunately now have to suffer more loss of crowd for KC v wakefield - i can see max 8000 and a lot of moaners.... many of whom have stood by club for last 8 pretty dire seasons and have valid claims to criticise !. Radders said he expects a pretty frosty KC next week and is under no illusions about consequences of a defeat !
I am just wondering if i am brave enough to book a trip all way from CH to KC for the wakefield game....................

| From an outsiders point of view, having only watched Hull in their tv games in the league this season, Radford has just built a team in his own image. Your 1-17 has absolutely no craft or guile, save for Pryce but without him you look very predictable.
For as good a player as Houghton is, his decision-making is dire, leaving you with a core 1,6,7,9 who are all but one, very easy to read. Banging it down the middle will only work as long as you are able to blow teams away and Hull were not that far away from doing so in the first 15 mins last night if it wasn't for poor execution and a bit of bad luck. It was evident however that there was absolutely no plan B.
Why is Abdull so fat?

| Very easy to put it all on Radford and he has to take a lot of it, but for me, last night was disappointing as the players heads went down. Same old problem, things don't go right, we panic and fail. I said last night, 10 minutes in when it was 12-6, if we don't panic, we'll win. I still think that would have been the case, we were the better team for the first 15.
Personally I think this week is a huge test of both the players, the coach, the club and the fans. We can't just win next week against Wakefield, we have to destroy them. I suspect that in the players meeting that is pretty much exactly what was said. I'm expecting a big response next week.
I'm not ready to call for Radford's head, but if we don't get the response against Wakefield and then that doesn't continue then I will certainly be convinced that it is time. I suspect if this is still a problem at Easter then that will be it.

aside from your dig at abdul, which we could say the same for kelly, we said the same thing last night, radford has tried to turn us into the bradford bulls 2000 era, it doesnt work anymore, we've spent too much in the forwards and skimped in the backs, teams have found out how to play us and its upto radford to figure out how to nulify that, unfortunately i dont think he has the nouse too

| If Radford does go I think Andy Last and other members of the coaching staff need to go too. Let a new coach bring their own people in.
I'd keep Horne on though as U23 coach though. Had a good record with the youngsters last season and deserves some time to develop.
Sadly though if Radford does go I can see us rushing Horne into the top spot like we did with Lee.

I said on another thread that there's plenty of blame to go around. During the 80 minutes of a game there's not a lot Radford can do. It's down to the players.
But it's not just about the 80 minutes on the pitch. It's about the training, the tactics and all the other preparation in-between. Radford and the coaches have to be held accountable there (and I'm not saying the players are blameless there either).

| Think Radford must now be on the last few minutes of borrowed time.
I've never been his biggest fan and always sensed (though not proven) that he may have been in Pearson's ear to get rid of Gentle on the promise that he'd do a better job, of which he never has.
As a life long fan for over 40 years now, I've always stayed positive regarding Hull and expect improvement is never far away.
With the close season recruitment, I'd shared others view that we just judge Radford 8-10 games in and post Easter Monday is a good time with us having played most of the teams by then.
Even with the defeat last night, I would still stick with assessing the situation in a few weeks, however during half time last night my view changed. At the end of the half, my positivity remained. We'd started strongly and had demonstrated in other games our ability to score more freely this season. A couple of early second half tries and we'd be back in with a shout.
Then came the changing room images. Clear as day, you see Radford walk through and out of the far end of the dressing room with a 'talk to the hand' dismissal to at least one of our players. To me, that moment showed things aren't right in our dressing room. This, followed by a very public 'Coaches asked to leave' endorses that view.
Of course, all sports have teams that have clear the air talks, but these are usually behind closed doors, a day or two after a defeat and if reported, done so a few days after the event.
So if things aren't right in the dressing room and there's s divide, then we've reached the point of no return. If this is the case, then Radford's position is untenable and he will have to go now.

| I know Ellis has come out and said the players only meeting isn't a sleight against Radford but I'm sceptical about this. Imo it indicates there's some kind of issue(s) that for one reason or another they felt they couldn't share with the coaches. That's not right because they have to be working together to fix things and the coaches need to know if the players (even if it's just one or two) are unhappy about something.
To be honest though, this should have been kept private. Radford should not have said what he did to the media. I really can't see what he was hoping to achieve by letting everyone know he and the coaches were kicked out of the changing room.

| It's players kind of in their own way absolving the coaching staff of blame and taking ownership of their own short comings. Hopefully they had a right good barney among themselves and got it all out!
This isn't even a big thing. Plenty of teams have done it in the past. Roosters did it last week
Tbf v cas and wigan individual errors/moments of incredible stupidity cost us points and as bad as it was the initial tactics the other nights were working. On another day would of been up 18.0. Lack of plan B was a worry but I think that all fell down with Talanoa off and all the positional changes due to that and the 2 halves each having the worst games they've had for us.
3 losses is truly dissapointing but that's the 1st genuinely bad performance so I'm not gonna wet myself over it just yet.
I suppose we'll see what the players are made of on Friday. Not so much in performance(must win tho) but attitude. Mentally they were weak on Thursday. Worst part of it all for me!!

For me it's a reflection that the players took responsibility and wanted to sort it out amongst them. No big deal for me and we only know about it because radford mentioned it to the press
