| apparently the US captain gave an interview to american tv halfway through todays action, and predicted which of his golfers would be the one to hole the winning putt - victims of overconfidence?

apparently so at about half 8 tonight
Quote John Inverdale, BBC Radio 5 live
"Apparently Davis Love has just given an interview for American TV in which he predicts that Jason Dufner will be the man who holes the putt to win the Ryder Cup for the United States."

| Didn't think they had a hope in fooking hell.
But it's sport, it happens.
Wish I'd backed them.

As with you Paul I never missed a minute of it. Possibly unbeatable in the drama stakes. Still got a tear in my eyes thinking of how proud Seve would have been.

Was just laid in bed considering this last night.
It's just been a phenomenal year of sport all-round.
Think 2012 will go down in the annals of history, certainly the finest in my 46 years.
Olympic/Paralympic success for individuals and teams. (made sweeter by Luke bringing GOLD back to Hull).
Wiggins first ever Tour de France victor.
Murray first British major winner in 76 years.
McIroy golfing major winner in the US.
The Premiership won in the last minute in the last match of the season.
Chelsea winning the Champions League
Frankel probably the greatest horse ever to grace the hallowed turf.
Spain (possibly the greatest ever footballing team) retaining their Euro title to go alongside being World Cup winners.
Europe retaining the Ryder Cup in the finest ever comeback.
If only we'd had a trophy to lift at Wembley or OT, It would have been immense.

Pah, all of that has been well and truely overshadowed by this mornings confirmation by KR of Omari Caro's signing, how will anyone top that?

Poults was huge but the biggest turning point for me was Justin Rose winning his singles from 1 down with a 15 ft putt for a half on the 16th then birdies on 17 and 18 to win it against Mickelson. Even a half there and it would killed all of our momentum. Stunning golf under the most extreme pressure.

Said exactly the same - Rose's point was the one that made you start to believe it was on. Mickelson played really relentless quality, but Rose just refused to buckle. Fantastic from every player, Garcia and Lawrie exceptional. Poulter's attitude on Saturday night set the tone, truly led by example. An unforgettable night of drama. Not a big golf fan, but no greater sporting theatre IMO.

Rose was great but i still think Poults 5 birdies on last 5 holes is what swung the momentum in Europe's favour.
