I dont feel you have been so inconsistent,apart from a couple of cracking performances against warrington,and one against cats,rovers and leeds you have been crap all season. Iwould say thats pretty consistent !

Can anyone tell me a club whose fans love to make someone a scapegoat like hull fans do. Craig hall, Chris thorman, Brett seymour, richard agar have all been made scapegoats at the club,and currently it seems a race between westerman and holdsworth. Do you "fans" know the object of fans is to support your players and not to get on their case all the time. Richard horne at one stage was thought to be washed up but until his injury had been hulls best player this season.
I know my posts never go down with you hull fans which is ok,but deep down on this subject some of you must know iam right !!

All clubs have them, it's just more prevalent at underperfoming clubs.

The fans are righ to criticise players when they aren't performing.

Richard Horne WAS poor for several seasons after his neck injury and diabetes diagnosis, yes he has come back and surprised many by coming back in to form, but it doesn't disguise the fact he was being picked based on name and not form for several years.

Thorman & Seymour were never good enough to be the quality no7 we needed.


Westerman is an ok player but I find him inconsistent, and he isn't the player we needed to lift us out of the mire for such a big transfer fee (I blame the club and not the player himself for this however) Holdsworth has received praise for some of his displays this season, but again is inconsistent and was shocking at Wembley & last night.

the players are professionals and have to accept that praise and criticism in equal measure. I'm sure they all enjoyed us all singing for 80mins and chanting their names at the CC Semi-Final...and they have to accept they will get criticism on here, on the radio etc when they play badly.

Good post. If it wasn't for us lot paying through the teeth week in week out for the club we love that shower wouldn't get paid.

This is laughable, you can't just lock yourself in a dark room all week and only come out for games! Even in the games the players are hearing booing and obviously that is going to pressure them! It's not like they can keep away from media, especially when most of them have things like twitter! Players get questioned all the time about rumours so they're going to hear about things such as their fans calling for their coaches head!!

Must be the water in Hull. Both sets of fans swing from believing their coach and team are world beaters/the worst team on the planet based on a couple of wins or losses. Fact is both are mid table clubs with mediocre coaches and an average set of players

Holdsworth is not good enough and by the way, under McRae, we never won a playoff game (Did we even reach them)? Never got to a CC final. The style was dire, that's the reason we won feckall during his famous "5 year plan".

Under McRae we played some of the best RL I have seen from an FC side. We scored plenty of points and if not for some chronic luck with injuries at the business end of the year would have reached a GF I'm certain. Go watch some season highlights from those years if you don't believe me.

Deary me....go and get a DVD highlights and check your History before you post utter crap.The 2004 season we batterd teams for fun until a chronic injury list took its toll in the play-offs.

I'm sure I've read someone say we look tired in recent games, I've not noticed it myself but like Gentle pointed out last night since the season started we've only had one week off which hasn't allowed us to 'recharge' & get some players back. I know it's the same with Wigan & look at their form over the last few weeks.

I don't want to use this as an excuse as we were just awful last night, nothing to do with fitness. Just haven't seen it mentioned yet.

No developing squad can be expected to slot in when half the "better" players are injured.

With the best will in the world, it's well nigh impossible to have a squad of 25+ top class players.

We've probably got a few too many average squad players, but they have fitted in well when included as individuals, but not when 4 or 5 are playing.

Yes, in 2001, 2002 and 2004.

Pretty unlucky in 2001, losing 24-27 at Wigan then 20-24 at home to Saints (with the dodgy foot-in-touch try to Saints).

We lost to Wakefield of course in 2004 but were without Jason Smith, Richie Barnett Paul King and Richard Horne. Cooke played but wasn't 100% fit (didn't take the goal kicks). A fully fit squad would've made Old Trafford that year. We'd only lost four league games up to mid August but then lost three in a row when injuries hit.

To say we were dire under McRae is, to be frank, complete horse.

Loved that season and the chants of "there's only two Richie Barnetts" would love a centre of his quality back at the club again

That loss to Saints Tony Martin should have either been binned or sent off if i recall correctly and then had a hand in the try that won it for them!
The Wakefield match it all went wrong just after the half time break when Korkidas did a barnstorming run and it lifted their full team and seeed to put doubt in our pack and we were winning at half time in that game

Who had his head in touch in the lead up to thier winning try....remember the Korkidas run but we had cooke playing strapped up and half the team in the stands including Jason Smith,who could dismantle a team on his own.
