This is what's so infuriating. Everything is in place for us to become serious challengers in a short space of time. The only thing that's missing is a decent coach and a couple of top signings. Why can't the board see it?

He won't resign and our BOD won't sack him either. He is more likely to be given an extension.

JR has said on many occasions that he is the man for the job. Many of us (maybe all of us now) completely and utterly disagree with his opinion but he will not back down and we are stuck with our clown of a coach.

If he were to resign, he must know that he would be struggling to attract even a small/medium sized club, never mind a club the size of ours. He would find himself in charge of a C1 club on less than half the salary and although he is clearly a rubbish coach, he is probably not stupid.

I'm just amazed it took so many people so long to finally figure out what was patently obvious from a long time ago.
Agar's a decent guy as you say and I'm certain he works extremely hard for the club, but he is simply out of his depth at this level. It's time for change before any further damage is done.

I honestly think that enough damage is already done. Anger among the fans is bad enough but the general feeling is more of apathy than anything else and that is far worse.

The only reason for attending games now seems to be "because I have a pass" or "because that's what I've always done". I honestly can't remember those days when the game was the highlight of the week that everyone looked forward to.

I've often thought about this, I only had to watch Agar speak once to know he was in no way a leader or a winner and my opinion has never wavered.

I think firstly every team has a section of fans that are, for want of a better term, 'happy clappers'. They see any criticism of any part of the club as disloyal, and even if Louie Spence was appointed head coach they would insist that he should be given time to prove himself etc. Beyond those though, I've come to the opinion that it's basicallly a form of denial. Agar is the manager and there's nothing you can really do about it so why not try and convince yourself that he's the right man for the job? Obviously this state of mind has been helped a great deal by the Rule's spin and PR machine, who have repeatedly made excuses for Agar's poor performance and backed him to the hilt... disagreeing with what the board say means accepting that they might not have the fans' best interests at heart, and that's a pretty difficult step for a lot of people.

Since I joined this forum I've come across as one of the most negative posters, but if we ever had a coach we could believe in people would see that I'm generally not like that. I was sad to see Kear go and thought it was the wrong move to sack Sharp, I'm just not in the business of trying to dupe myself.

as much as i think we need a new coach,we also need players who know how to pass a ball properly.ball control by players is also pathetic.no wonder we are one of the worst attacking sides in the league.even in the lead up to the one try we scored last night,someone throw a pass that was going nowhere.

Horne's passing last night was nothing short of shocking.

Same thing it all boils down to coaching.

the basic skills catch and pass of our team is awfull

The handling side of our game has been poor for some time and the error count for the last 3 seasons has increased year on year.

I see the level of nauseating self-congratulation has risen this morning.



A few folk will be sporting shoulder injuries from patting themselves on the back.

I don't see the point in saying "I told you so" over and over again, or sneering at others who had a different POV. And I say that as someone who never wanted Agar appointed in the first place. The situation is depressing enough without sniping at fellow fans.

Whilst I agree with you I do think that some posters have had to put up with a fair amount of criticism and abuse for thier opinions on Agar so I can understand some getting a little bit of "payback"

I'm not sure that's true. I largely share those opinions of Agar and I haven't had any criticism directed at me. What they [ihave[/i been criticised for is the way those opinions have been expressed or some of the dafter suggestions/comments made.

You mean 'sniping' like the other day when you called me the 'Anti-Icecreamman' for having the temerity to say if Agar stayed in charge we won't finish above Cas this year?

If Agar had been a success the amount of humble pie the likes of myself and other staunch anti-Agar posters would have had to consume would have been enormous and rightfully so. All I've seen on this thread is a few people expressing regret that it took so many so long to see what was so blindingly obvious, a perfectly warranted and in no way self-congratulatory comment.

Some posters have been criticised in the past. Perhaps it was more to do with [ihow[/i they expressed those opinions but they were still criticised and its natural for them to now point out they are being vindicated. I think we have both had very similar opinions of Agar since the day he was first appointed but we were perhpas more considered in our postings so didn't recieve the flack and dont feel the need to say we were right.

Care to name names, go on be a man.

Those of us who stuck to our guns throughout last year in regards to agar's unsuitability to the position had to take a lot of stick simply because we chose to look at the wider picture rather than being sucked in by a temporary slight rise in results.

As I pointed out last night on another thread (when discussing this point with my favourite adversery Mrs Berrigan



) I honestly wish I had been proved wrong and Richard Agar was clearly taking us to the summit. I would much rather have held my hands up and eaten humble pie as we celebrated a trophy being held aloft. I take absolutely no pleasure from the fact that the opinions I expressed last year appear to have come home to roost this weekend.

Trust me, I was as brassed off as everybody else last night walking out of the ground.
