I'd imagine that'll be at the Stoop as in 2009.

Oh I quite agree. Aus v NZ at the KC would be awesome. I just think the RFL will go for the Stoop, they got over 12,000 in 2009.

| Quote ="sandy"thats because they know they can sell out an england v australia game more or less anywhere in the rugby league heartlands but the only way they'll get a decent crowd for the kiwis is in Hull. sadly I reckon the poor crowds for the last NZ tour largely killed off the traditional 3 test tour of this country and made way for the 4 nations competition and the extremely popular ashes tours were a big casualty of this.'"
Sadly you do reckon.
What killed off any three-test tour was financials and logistics.
It simply is no longer feasible to continue in the traditional 3-test format

Wouldn't interest me live personally - would kinda be a great spectacle, but the atmosphere would surely be dead. GB/England match over Aus v NZ everytime IMO.
Hey O/T with the popularity of NFL over here I wonder if we'll ever see an American Football game played at the KC?

Agree 100% Sheldon, just meant because they manage to sell out Wembley every time for (IIRC) exhibition matches, wouldn't be a big shock if they staged some kind of 'On the Road' travelling tour of matches to cash in on it's popularity.

| Quote ="Wellsy13"In a way, I wouldn't mind having the England vs France/Wales game at the KC. Wouldn't mind seeing someone different for a change, and I reckon we could get a decent crowd for it in Hull (better than at Donny anyway). Think the RFL need to start being a bit more ambitious with their stadium selections. Picking a 14k ground for an international will only make people think it's not that important.
If Wales win the European Cup though, I would hazard a guess that it would be in the North West area (closer to Wales). They could probably sell out the DW with the right kind of promotion.'"
You would rather see England vs France or Wales instead of seeing us play the aussies or kiwi's or even seeing aus vs nz for that matter

I agree, however a completely impartial CEO of the SMC is what we've wanted since 2003 and I'm glad we finally have one. I look forward to FC finally being treat like equals at the KC.

Indeed. Reading the Wail article I thought - great, a neutral. And this morning, reading Wilf's (once again excellent) diary this morning I thought the same as Karen. Wilf said:
"The other day I met Mark McGuire who is the new head honcho at the KC and in charge of the SMC. It was a great opportunity to explain to him that many FC and indeed neutral fans feel that the SMC is too closely aligned with the football club and in fact seen by many as being one and the same thing. He surprised me by admitting that he actually agreed there was a misconception there, and that one of his first priorities was to try and =#000040wrestle back some independence for the management company and some impartiality between them and both their main tenants. "
...which boded very well.
Scarred by the appalling Duffen, [url=http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/WhosWho/0,,10338,00.htmlI checked[/url, and now I feel a bit cheated. Surely the best way to make the SMC independent from it's tenants is to hire, er, independents.
Stiil, it's so far so good with Pearson. Let's hope Maguire is more a Pearson rather than a Duffen. But either way, as an employee of Bartlett, he'll be targeted to make a profit for his boss first and foremost.
