Hard to judge how much we've improved on today's display as Catalans were so poor and looked disinterested...but our 2nd half display certainly had some encouraging signs.

We saw a 40/20

one try had not one but 2 dummy runners in the build-up

and generally the attacking play looked a world away from the dross served up on Good Friday. Hopefully another win at Salford next week and Ellis' return will further increase the confidence and we can kick on from there.

The difference 9 days can make..

Starting to think Good Friday was a blessing in disguise, yes it was painful to be beaten like against the enemy and in front of the SKY cameras, but it seems to have motivated the players to do better.

Ellis won't be bac lk in the next 2 weeks IMO. still limping walking the World Cup trophy round!!

Thought Horne had a great game today.

Possibly was wearing a protective boot? Can't see the club letting him walk round the pitch if he was still injured.

In programme Ellis said going for another scan this week and his protective boot is off

Though we were good today, our defence at times was excellent.

Good solid effort, completely controlled the game IMO albeit against a lacklustre Catalans team. Horne was fluent and effective again, best kicking game from him in ages, strong in defence too. Loving Tom Lineham too, bit cocky in cutting the angle down

Can't see SKY picking us much giving how low we are in the table, only the Magic Weekend and Wakefield at home are currently scheduled to be on SKY, so here's hoping our camera-shy team picks up some more wins.

After the utter rubbish we have served up at times this season, looking at the league table I am not too disheartened to be only 3 points behind Saints/Catalans/Warrington (pre Leeds game). I see a reason to be optimistic......

It's a step in the right direction and a good win. Pleased with Horney who had a great game and stood up to the challenge. I agree with the OP, this was a confidence boost for both team and fans alike. We need a good win against Salford and some injured players back so we can sort out our position in the table.
When a team can gather confidence the results tend to look after themselves.

Always been a fan of Horne. He's having one of his best seasons in years and today was a real highlight. Take a bow sir.

Great to see us get two back to back victories and hoping we can make it a third against Salford next week. Performance was very pleasing and didn't think anyone let us down but MoM was definitely Richard Horne who was outstanding for the most part with his kicking (40/20!) and his passing.

Feared the worst at half time when it was 4-4 as the game had been a bit stuttering at that point but we really kicked on in the second half and controlled the game which was great to see.

it was just early on in the game we wasnt completing sets we wont be able to do that against wigan in a few weeks they will destroy us, seem to be getting confidence back thou, dicky horne is like a fine wine better with age.

Think there's a load of average/poor teams in SL this year, so there's definitely an opportunity to climb the league...but I am still not sure we can compete when it matters against the big teams, but I suppose I should wait for Holdsworth, Yeaman and Ellis to be back before I write them off.

I think if we can keep going as we have the last 2 games and give Holdsworth plenty of recovery time then we might be in for a decent run.

Richard Horne is doing well for us. Really pleased for him.

If we start to play like we did in the 2nd half for 80mins then we can compete with anyone, but we have struggled to play well for 80mins for a long while. A better side would have capitalised on our errors in the opening 20mins today for example.

exactly that and 20 mins early not switched on, teams like wigan can put 20-30 points and they dont take there foot off the gas and i dont think were good enough to turn any result like that around. like the huddersfield game we matched em set for set its an arm wrestle, and make 1 mistake and you get punished, tbf i think the turning point in that game was the mcdonnell ball over the line and the ref gave a dropout and hudds went in dry, with talc on!!!! pfffttt.

People have long speculated that he's built a side for 'summer' with our smaller, but quick forwards and his 'drier pitch' comment seems to confirm this is/was his plan.

Solid performance with the forwards fronting up really well to a big catalans pack. Horne was excellent again as was mcdonnell. It was pleasing that we scored 5 tries from our outside backs from a mix of plays and had another 2 chalked off. A whole lot better than the derby

After we weathered the early pressure on our line I was never worried and always felt we would win the game. Horne and Heremaia played well together for the second consecutive game which highlights the poor selection for the derby. Tickle played well as did Westy and the young centres defended well against bigger opposition. Solid win.
