Seymour isn't a bad player, but things just haven't worked out for him for a few reasons, certainly not a lack of effort. I really hope he recovers and is happy in life, be it in rugby or elsewhere.

If that salary is true, it's another to believe agar is a fool, that sort of money for this type of player for 3 years in ridiculous.

Will give up some money to play with next session and maybe even a new signing for this year, I'm hoping we have something in the pipeline.

If he had a contract to the end of 2014 he will be getting a nice payoff I would imagine

Logical outcome. Poor fella, hope he can straighten his life out. Gives you cap space to play with but if you're after a half-back there'll be plenty of clubs in the market & not many obvious targets.

Glad this has been sorted, the club needed to move on from this. Can someone clarify the salary cap implications? thought the cap was now "live" so as he's no longer employed by the club does his salary count?

He's on about the signings made for the start of the 2012 season. Wade McKinnon, Brett Seymour and Aaron Heremeia. O'Meley was here long before that.

I'd heard this was dealt with by our insurance company on the grounds of him not being fit to play.

If this was the case would any payoff count ??

Shame it's ended like this but best for all concerned I think. From Seymour's point of view he can concentrate on getting himself well again and from the clubs point of view this allows us to move forward (although like many of you I'm unclear what implication this has salary cap wise).

I for one wish Brett all the best in the future.

This was the only outcome imo.. Brett was never going to play for us again and now he can concentrate on getting himself fit and his family.
