Good player, was excellent last year. Made a couple of errors early on this year (second season syndrome) and has been treated harshly IMO.

Was excellent at his best but struggled with form earlier in the season. He clearly has a point to prove so hopefully both Hull and Foster can reap the benefits of this move.

If he brings an ounce of the commitment he showed in every game at Saints to his time at Hull then you will have a hard worker in Foster. He is a slight build so can get run over near the line but if he has a supportive fullback and sidekick in defence he will certainly make the effort in the tackle. He was also the player who made the most breaks for us last season as he reads the game well and is nippy. He can spot openings and it is on those occasions, plus when finding the tryline (which he is good at doing) that his slight frame is an advantage - he gets through gaps that bigger blokes can't. His goal kicking was immense for us last season and just as good at the start of this. When his confidence was knocked a bit his kicking went off a bit but it wasn't disasterous even then. In the GF he kicked a penalty from the halfway line so he has a strong kick as well as an accurate one.

I hope he does well for you as I think he (and the other young players from last season) have been treated poorly since we experienced a change in coaching regime.

I liked the look of this kid last year and like I posted earlier he has a decent boot on him, good bit of business imo

Lineham presumably is squad number 39 given he was in the squad for the Catalans game, although he isn't listed on the website and wasn't given a number preseason.

Does Turner defend beside his winger? Saints move players around in defence and so quite often Foster would end up with Lomax defending inside him and Lomax is great in defence. Perhaps Gentle will be aware of his slight frame and change things around a bit to accommodate it. If your fullback tracks well too that would help so he can be on hand to lend extra muscle if need be but that should be par for the course with a fullback anyway. It's only his frame that is the problem; not his effort. He isn't afraid to tackle and he's not workshy. He just needs a bit of help close to the line.

I remember him once downing Keith Senior single-handedly in a fantastic limpet like tackle. That was in his debut season when he was even skinnier! But it wasn't right near the tryline so he had space to run into Senior and make his momentum count.

And an additional issue, our fullback will be playing his 3rd game for us, so it's hard to say what we can expect of him just yet. Unfortunately I can see Foster being hung out to dry on occasion, as Sharp and Crooks before him have been. One of the joys of being a Hull fan in recent years is seeing right wingers floundering in a sea of opposition attackers.
