Rubbish to lose any derby, worse still to lose it through a combination of a bad call and a last minute try, but credit to Rovers, they played to the whistle. But the worst point for me about tonight is the 2 league points chucked away. Another season of 7th/8th if Leeds sort themselves out. Disappointing.

But to be fair Mrs B that's where this squad is at, possibly a 6th place at best. This squad is well short of what is required to win things, Hudds and Wigan showed us that.

Agree we shouldn't have let you back in but you can't complain about one rule being enforced against you (the dropout) and then not when a forward pass is not enforced in your favour. That's the rule this season though I agree it is stupid.

We need a new front row imo. Apart from Moa playing well and Lynch being average i cant remember anything of note. Pitts, whatever position hes actually playing seems almost invisible and thats not just based on this game.

Only forwards of note where Moa, Manu and Tickle.

Backs wise Martin is e - should of played Crooks, Turner had a good game as did Sharp, but they let themselves down at the end though that wasnt why we lost, that was the forwards fault and the fact that we are simply not that good a team.

Sort of agree, but if we don't improve on our league finishing position, although we're a much better proposition to watch, it's disappointing. Guess there was some hope that we might have got 6th after our start, but losing to Rovers means we'll have to step up our game to keep up

Thought Pitts was very good in defence personally.

Also thought O carroll was poor

What I am pleased with is that our coach and his staff are getting the most out of the talent they have available to them. Give them better to work with and I'm sure we will be challenging.

Are you suggesting Lynch is average full stop or just in todays game?

And 2 of them are leaving and the other one is rumoured to want out too.

Other than that we are a much better side than rovers and really shouldn't be throwing away winning leads against poor sides.

Have to say that I am worried that we will struggle to even assemble a squad as good as this years for next season when we're losing the players we are, let alone having an even better one.

At the beginning of the season 6th would be a good acheivement. We are short of quality in posistion and it showed tonight. We badly missed a 4th prop on the bench tonight. Whiting and Aspinwall can do well, but i just think we missed a bit of punch at times when needed. Just thought we lost it in the pack tonight barring Manu

We had the game won at 60mins gone, rovers were tiring and we were on top. Then rovers got the short kick off when martin went down and thats when we started to crumble. Rovers played well but we played good enough to win. What cost us were the penalties the rediculous man in the middle and the dreaded momentum

one thing that hasnt been mentioned, on the last try where was our full back? thought the kid had a absol brill game but maybe showed naivity in not tracking across the field,when rovers made the break he was standing more or less in the centre of the pitch when a seasoned full back would have moved across, not having a go at the lad as i think he had a wow of a game

Manu was massive today, I know you've signed Ellis, but Manu will be missed badly. Moa and Houghton were great too, I liked the look of Russell too, read that his positional play wasn't that good when you signed him but it was today. IMO Hull lack a stand off but you know that all ready. Your off loads are spot on too, can't understand why Rovers hardly do it.

I hear what your saying but whats the point of getting in or near the top four then not achieving anything which is what this squad will do. Id just let this season go and just look at the improvements in our structures and the way we play the hope for massive improvements next season. Now i know you have severe issues with the possible make up of next seasons team but until it happens all i can is who knows and lets hope the management have a few masterstrokes up their sleeves

It's worth pointing out that we have still have more points after 14 rounds than any season since 2004.

Hull were by far the better team.

As you say, the turning point was the try whilst Martim was being tended to. He was not n a position to contest the ball coming to him, they get possession against 12 men. You can take that on the chin.


That two officials cannot see a forward pass of that magnitude, in such an important area / time questions their ability.

Hull never crumbled. Widnes crumbled today. Hull were done by the officials on the Dobson try.

No one expects us to win anything this season though. I still think we're actually better than I thought we'd be before the season started. Tonight was an anomoly. Very rarely will be only have about 1/3 of posession in a half of rugby. With 50% of the ball we'd have won comfortably. With 2/3 of posession we'd have scored 50. I don't think there's a reason to be worried. P1ssed off that we lost yes, but worried, no
