| Don’t know enough either way to have an opinion on the decision to let him go from our point of view. It does seem like Rovers are now wanting to throw money at the academy now, so now we’ve got the new owners and funding it’s important we stay on the ball with this. I know they’ve already put plans in motion to sweep up the best junior talent in the city we need to keep up with them IMO. I’m sure at the forum AP did actually say something about Richie knows we have to get into the community game more or something along those lines so hopefully we’re on it.

| [quote="boardwalkempire7":3sqq91tc]It’s rather a tenuous link between Balmforth Staveley and Riding.
Could understand it if Riding was head coach.
Besides, kr already have
Litten, mcilorum and leyland..
Their back row is also well stocked.
Just can’t see it happening.[/quote:3sqq91tc]
To be fair haven’t they followed him everywhere he’s been? I’d say it’s more than a tenuous link he obviously has a good relationship with both players and families. I do agree though that now both players are becoming established in SL it’s unlikely they’ll just leave for Rovers on the basis of who they’ve appointed as academy coach.

I always assumed both came with Riding from Warrington but honestly could be wrong on that.

Not sure about everywhere, they had academy connection.
Balmforth would be 4th choice hooker, unless kr release one of their new signings or litten.
Staveley as good as he is would be behind quite a few good back rows too.
