Quote ="Errlee Berd"It depends on your criteria of what makes a club a success?
Personally, a club who contribute to vastly increasing participation numbers in the country and the talent pool for SL clubs is pretty important[i. Losing London would have a far bigger negative impact on the game than losing say Wakefield, Castleford, Widnes or Salford. [/i
They've fallen on hard times, terrible management and ownership for the past 6 years. We've been there too in the past, we were bailed out. I'm not sure why, generally, RL fans have such apathy towards London.'"
Don't agree with that at all. but hey its all about opinions. I would imagine the vast majority of Londoners would not even no a RL team exists so I don't think they will miss it when it goes.
Where as most teams up here are part of the community, they have longstanding routes, London have had that many name changes, venue changes etc that they have no chance at all to do that. When are we going to realise that south of Yorkshire no one is the slightest bit interested in RL. The national press certainly arnt.
Only on Sunday the papers carried 5-6 pages of englands union international against NZ where Englands WC game managed about half a page towards the back of the sports sections. Sad but true.
