Quote ="andyhullwyke"hi, didnt play school rugby then, but in 76 i started playing for newland youth club. i was u 14s and there was a Paul Tattersfield playing for our u16s at that time. so he would have been about 15 in 1976. he was a prop forward and huge for his age. he represented hull, yorkshire and england i think. sometimes see him about - hes an electrician.
we had a good team - [ushaun patrick, ian patrick, wayne proctor and paul welham [/uall went on to play for FC. our toughest opponents were Ainthorpe, coached by ex pro Bri Hambling. they had a player that was one for the future - Lee Crooks'"
They all played for the A team and managed to get into the Guinness Book of Record for being unbeaten..Shaun Patrick was the only one who played regular first team, a certain match (unable to recall which) he was being watched by the GB coach to tour Austalia during the match he did his knee
Nobby Noble got the gig..When Ian & Shaun both played amaetur (12 months difference in age) the general feeling was Ian had more ability, however it did not work out that way as Shaun had more passion.
If I recal Des Harrison was in your team and went to Rovers ? also Andy Dannatt? coach the legendary Brian Holwell
