The reason you cannot take alcohol on to the terraces is quite simple. When the stadium was opened Hull City football Club applied for a liquor "on licence". The magistrate who granted the licence stipulated that one of the conditions was that beer and spirits could not be taken off the concourse or out of the private boxes. At the same sessions Hull Rugby Football Club applied for a licence and according to the magistrate "in the interests of fairness" the same conditions should apply.
