The failure to secure a Rugby international at the KC was always an accident waiting to happen. If it was not this international it would have been some other rugby match. When Pearson was in charge at least he was fair, now that he has gone the SMC has lost its impartiality. The terms and conditions of the agreement between the council and the SMC are heavily in favour of the SMC. Whoever controls the SMC controls the stadium. The terms and conditions are heavily weighted in favour of the SMC, the council, and lets not forget it was their money (therefore the council tax payers of Hull) who built the stadium have no say in the running of the stadium.
If I was a resident of Hull these are the questions I would be asking my local councillor:
1) Which employee of the council negotiated the terms and conditions for the running of the stadium?
2) Does he/she still work for the council?
3) If they do not work for the council where do they work now? ( thats a good questionicon_smile.gif )
4) Do the council recieve any money from the profits the stadium makes?
5) Is it correct the Hull City Council not only does not recieve any income from the stadium activities but actually contributes to the upkeep of the stadium to the tune of £100,000 per annum?
