| moments in 2024 that become great and fond memories. For me watching from the colonies... What a year!
1) playing at Siddal in the cup
2) Opening night at home to the Bulls
3) Wembley and the awakening of a latent fan base
4) the amazing signings made and announced for 25 and beyond... Led by the return of TJ and signing Big Mac
5) Max Jowitt 500 points... Smashing Foxy's records... Playing Half and Full Back with equal aplomb and a massive number of try assists.
6) the grand final.. Astonishing occasion.. Almost perfect team performance and of course...
7) Jerry...jerry ...jerry!
8 ) the grade A... but with greater ambition, with more work on the ground, the ladies team, the academy, the scholarship... Ongoing at a phenomenal pace
I'm sure there are more...

| PS we are now in the early stages of planning (inspired by the release of the 25 fixtures) a trip back to Europe and UK ... Just trying to decide the optimum 3-4 week period... Any suggestions would be welcome!

My grandson is 22 months old and is just starting to talk and one of his favourite past-times is running around the house with his rugby ball shouting "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry"

| Wembley was the stand out moment for me. But the atmosphere in the semi at Bradford at full time was pretty special as well.
After that, Siddal was probably my favourite game. Totally changed my opinion on amateur clubs hosting professional sides. They were a credit to the amateur game.
The minute after Jerry's conversion was probably more memorable than the trophy lift! Great way for him to bow out.

Grand final for me all day long, the atmosphere, seeing BV packed to the rafters and a faultless team performance, watched it back several times and get a buzz each time

I’d try and sneak magic weekend in there and stay over a night or two in Newcastle or s couple miles out of the centre. Maybe somewhere like Whitley bay etc.

Yeah it was a great night. Best performance of the season and felt like a real event. I was gutted at the time, but I do think in hindsight a year out of SL was just what we needed. It's felt refreshing.

I liked the fireworks and event feel to the game.
Maybe it’s something we can introduce to some evening games and try make match day more of an event

| Memorable things last season, the 2 finals and the reawakening of a club with it's city. Also 2 other things the amazing chant of Jerry Jerry Jerry was brilliant. Also the way we reacted as a club to Whitehaven's plight made proud to be a fan of Wakefield Trinity.

| Wembley was ThE highlight, followed by the GF at BV.
Great trips to Barrow and Whitehaven and of course Toulouse (apart from the result).
Even the game away at Siddal will live long in the memory and the cherry on top of the cake had to be Jerry's conversion.

| Wembley for me in 79 I had to join a ship in Kenya so had to miss the final, it was a long time to wait. Second the final againt Toulouse with the bonus of Jerry at the end of the game. Finally our owner who did so much for Whitehaven, having travelled up to Whitehaven it was a great away day.

If all professional RL players were like Jerry the game would be in a better position, legend. All budding young players should use him as a model.

| Yeah, I enjoyed watching his League Express podcast last night. He's usually quite introverted, IMO, but I found him talkative and informative about his career. His disappointments with how it ended at Hudds and his gratitude that he got a call off DP to play full-time, without knowing which club it was at the time, enabled him to play on because he needed a full-time gig so his kids could attend their football academies, which are both rightly the centre of his world, as all doting parents. It's the reason he never moved to the NRL after that good WC. He said he got a few others but at most, it'd have been 2/3 years down under, which would have meant taking his kid out of his academy at Man City I think and he wouldn't have known whether that would have derailed his ambitions and potential career, so he got a better wage and stayed at Hudds. As many know he's got lads playing England age group, one at Man Utd and the other at Man City, if that works out he'll be made up for them both and he deserves it, he's sacrificed for them.
After his initial frustration with the injury, he puts it as one of his most memorable seasons he's had for various reasons, mostly because he just had so much fun with the lads, they all got on so close and of course his Wembley win etc.
I think reading between the lines if it wasn't for that back-to-back bicep tear and he'd have got through this season's injury free, I reckon he'd have probably gone another season because he was still good enough, fit enough etc. But I think those injuries made his mind up. As he says when the lads start playing he'll miss it but not the early morning training sessions.
personally, I'm really glad we had him at Trinity even if it was just for the year, a top bloke and an absolute gent.

| It was a fantastic interview and one I thoroughly enjoyed , as already pointed out Jerry was only here for one year and even then due to that injury he picked up at Siddal we only saw him on the field for half the season .
However what impact he gave us , Jerry is somebody we will still be talking about for years to come and " THAT CONVERSION " will go down in Trinity folklore , pure Hollywood .
You know Jerry retired has so much to offer the game of Rugby League and I hope one day he returns , even better if he comes back to Trinity .
Jerry would be a fantastic asset at schoolboy or academy Rugby League , his knowledge of the game and how to be a professional Rugby League player in a behind the scenes role .
You could also see him in a role helping young people in the community who have gone down the wrong path and using Rugby League as a vehicle to attaining a better life .
Whatever the future holds for Jerry I wish him all the best , it was an absolute pleasure to see him in the red , white and blue even if it was only for a few months .
