After 23 years membership I cancelled my Sky TV subscription today.



Looking forward to rejoining if we ever get back in. Just hope Salford don't drop out and they invite Trinity back in as I sacrificed all my VIP rewards.

Don't be surprised if they contact you in the next few days and offer you a half price deal or something similar to stay with them

It's their usual MO, I've had sky since 1992 (when it was BSB with a squariel

) when ever they put my subscription up I cancel, every time they call me back several times over the months period of notice making me offers on discount, I have learnt to wait until the 3rd call back, last time my subscription went up to £63 a month, I currently pay £28 following their discounted offer

not losat my VIP status neither.
Might stretch to the 4th call back next time as I'm less enthused about renewing it now

Just got new M Impossible film free, as a VIP gift. Think that sums us up as a club at present after the last 10 year

Not had sky for a while now and must have had 2 dozen calls or letters. They are haemorrhaging customers and spending their ever reducing income on more and more football. I reckon they will be toast in a few years.

I love Sky. Can't do without it.
But I clearly have a problem as i also have Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime and Apple TV.

Think you could be right, Will get shot down ,but spending far to much money on woman's sport, .In fact trying to make it bigger than men's sport . We have now got them commentating on big men's sporting events. like the ashes. Most of the commentary is done by all time greats of cricket who have been there and done it .Women are no were near good enough at playing the game at this top level as these men . . It is political correction, as with the rest of the country, gone mad , Stopped watching football years ago when it became a sport of money and cheating

Agree about them trying to make it as big as mens sport and the comms bit - it seems to be every sport now... even RL....
I mean, and no offence - there are two decent ladies darts players who play, but we have some of the others commentating.....

I personally enjoy watching women's football. The skills are a very high level and the ethics of the game are far superior to the men.
You can choose not to watch. Nothing wrong with that. But trying to imply they shouldn't, same as trying to hold back and group of people playing sport is just caring.

I don't understand who you think is spending too much money. The stadiums are a sell out. Why would Sky not want to show them and why would advertisers not want to get on board.

In terms of rugby, I'd rather watch the men's game, but support the England team in the WC.
If you see the Aussies play they are superior athletes. It will take time for the other women's teams to catch up.

In terms of Wakefield Trinity ladies team. I'd really like to see them do well. They don't command the same money as the men's, and shouldn't right now, but that doesn't mean they are on their own.

For me the difference between the NRLW and Womens super league is similar to the NRL and SL, with an influx of UK women starting to go over there. That being said it will never be the same physical and skill spectacle as the mens, it’s simply genetics, but they do their best with the attributes they are born with. If this attracts more fans to RL I think it’s great, but from a spectacle point it’s not for me. I genuinely prefer watching the wheelchair rugby, I think it’s high pace, skilled and very entertaining to watch.

Wheelchair rugby is an unbelievable sport.

Then there's the netball, basketball, baseball and to some extent American football that they are flooding the channels with.
American owned company pushing mostly American sports, RL won't exist to them.

I'm with Virgin, so Sky Sports is part of my package, but have to say, it's gone downhill over the last few years.
As far as women's sport, agree with Pat, some of the women commentators/experts are cringe worthy to listen to.

I first watched it at the 2022 WC, and had never seen it before. I think it’s fantastic and is one of only a handful of times I’ve seen a english side beat an Aussie side at RL. The rivalry with the French side is also great for the sport.

I don't think anyone should be commentating or acting as an expert if they are not good enough. Nothing to do with gender. I judge on a case by case. Being an ex male player doesn't make you good on TV.

Super league commentary most of the time is the pits isn’t it. Phil Clarke fellating anything Wigan, Terry and Barry constantly reminiscing about how hard it was back int day. Brian Carney spreading false crap, like he tried at Wakey last year saying Matt Ellis was going to pull out of the takeover, or something to that effect. Don’t mind Well’s.
