We know who is captain now, but he will concentrate on his benefit this season & in my opinion he was honest last season but not very strong.
When a team is a good team the captain is usually very strong & force full. I would like to see a forward similar to rocky turner or at least a pack leader if we have a back player as captain.

Captain is a crucial role.
Problem is they’re all mates and it’s going to be difficult to find a Derek Turner who told his mates on the pitch what he thought of them if they weren’t doing it!
The likes of Some players from last season wouldn’t have wanted to go back on the pitch !
I sincerely hope whoever gets it will be more vocal than the last few captains.

Having said that, hard to give a proper opinion until the squad is finalised.

Potentially, with some of these younger forwards announced, we could start to see less and less of the likes of Pitts and Ashurst.

Time will tell

Luke Gale for me. Never realised it as mostly tended to dislike him. He is a natural communicator and has great enthusiasm. Met him at a presentation night at my club. Was in the shop today talking to fans.

Pitt’s has led from the front and never thrown the towel in even when games were well past salvaging ,(of which there were plenty) . I’m sure it would be an honour for him to lead us back into super league
