My main thought was I wish Tom Johnstone was still a Trinity player.

Thought Tonga very unlucky.

Be interesting to see how we'd have got on if we'd have travelled to the Southern Hemisphere to play this

It was on BBC One, really don't like Jonathan Davies but always thought Mark Chapman should be on Sky.

Game was exactly what you'd expect it to be, flat with very little enthusiasm from the fans.

Very poor game of rugby,lewis best on pitch welsby gotvplaudits for a good pass so the 2 trys he could of and maybe should of stopped dont mentioned,tommy had 2 walk in trys but did ok,moore the ref should of reffed in an england shirt he was that bias and had the game been played in tonga they would of won

I didn't even know there was a game, saw it flicking through the channels.

About as good as can be expected these days I guess.

Poor game really. Just watched a recording and went through most of the second half at x12 speed just rewinding for the tries.

Thought the same, a couple of decisions wrongly went against them that proved costly.

Should have got off your s n gone to the game instead of moaning , typical test match and cracking atmosphere,. Wonder why RL is in the doldrums all the time with the typical fan sat at home hammering the keyboards instead of getting off the couch n going to these games

So I could've spent £25 on watching live dross instead? Watched enough this season already.

Thought Tom Johnstone carried the ball back strongly after their kicks. Obviously all those years of practice at Belle Vue payed off

2 new teams with not much time to prepare served up an enjoyable game in my opinion.

Englands defence and intensity for spells in the second half was outstanding really enjoyed that.

I think we did enough to edge it and I think both teams will be better in the 2nd and 3rd tests for the run.

A number of my mates went over and said it was a cracking atmosphere in the stadium so hard to see where that criticism is coming from.

I can sort of see why some didn't rate it. England were extremely cautious in their approach which was never more than 5 'one ups' and a kick till they got anywhere near the opposition 20. 90% of the plays went down the left. I can't recall a structured attacking move to the right. Makinson and Newman seemed to be ignored as an attacking option.
Other than a bit of sparkle from Lewis and a smart intercept from TJ , it was all very predictable.

Thought it was a decent game. How the he'll people judge the atmosphere from the sofa is beyond me , the only way is to be actually there not via the TV.

I'm going on Saturday, I thoroughly enjoyed the game yesterday. I looking forward to the game on Saturday which I expect it to be a lot closer and a great advert for our game.

I saw plenty of play go on the right tracks however it always seemed to be angled runs back towards midfield. Newman strangely took a few runs away from the edges. I actually thought had Wellsby not fluffed a few clear overlaps on the left edge there could have been a few more try’s.

Agreed. We had opportunities a couple of times to get at them on the counter but Welsby didn’t let the ball go.

He did make up for it with the pass to TJ which was sublime.

Second game is awful.

And Welsby has been even worse

He’s been poor today. Consistently takes wrong option and keeps the ball when there’s space and numbers. Definitely an area of his game needs improvement. He should be able to work on that.

Agree no excitement, every thing so slow, if this is the best England can put out ,makes you wounded how bad the Championship going to be

Just watched Fiji v png the ball handling and speed is on a different level, when we stop creating robots and have the desire to play with flair we may get somewhere near
