Think Gale will possibly get offered an assistant coaching role after his current playing contract ends. You don't really get player/coaches these certainly not in Super League anyway. If we are still in SL by then

Pretty sure he's expressed an interest in a coaching role, he certainly knows how to control the field so would be worth trying in an assistant role in my opinion.

Just have a listen to the Kirmond heritage podcast and tell me that the lad doesn’t deserve a position at the club , he’s Wakey through and through , bust his body for us and sings the clubs praises at every opportunity,and was a winner on and off the field for us , a miniature Fifita if you like (big boots to fill I know ) , the crowd loved him the team loved him , great qualities from a great guy , be foolish not to get him involved in some capacity at the club .

Great for the club but I want a new Head Coach next year too.

Fantastic news to have a character like Kirmo back at the club but it must also be backed by ability as a coach and man manager or it’s just tokenism and will have a short shelf life of effectiveness.

In some ways it seems like a strange move because I would expect a change of Head Coach at the seasons end and a new coach would surely want to choose his own backroom

I think its a poor idea, I think we need a clear out of all coaching staff that have anything to do with club over the last many seasons and certainly not bring in any ex players.

Got to agree the faster we can get a clear out of old players ,poor players that have been signed in the last four year the better as well as the coach the better Great time to do it if we are in the Championship
