Just heard he has signed for Cas too. OK the lad is a fringe player but I would sooner have him than the likes of Lineham who we are paying a big wage. Kershaw may not be the best, but at least you know he will give it his all when he pulls on the shirt.

I think there's enough improvement in Kershaw to make him a competent super league winger. He'll never be a world beater but he's only just turned 24 and still has scope to become a better player with some decent coaching. One that can't be doubted about him is his effort, he never gives anything less than 100% and because of that he's one i was hoping to keep to be honest.

Surely you don't still believe that guff. Agents/players/clubs talk irrespective of contracts, it happens, that's life.
I would imagine it's obvious by now to all and sundry we are toast as a club under this present ownership and quite rightly players are looking after their own interest when they are free agents come end of season. Eseh may be slightly different in the freedom aspects due to his age, but I am sure the bloke will not want to end up in the same predicament as Shaw and Croft.

It’s not what I believe. It’s a fact. He is under contract. He is not allowed to be approached. Much like when trinity got fined for talking to Robinson at Wigan many moons ago.

Eseh isn’t a free agent and may not become a free agent until end of 2024.

And you don’t talk for me when you say all and sundry think the club is toast. It doesn’t look good granted but there’s still time to turn it around. It didn’t look good last season 4/6 points adrift yet here we are. I’m not ready to completely submerge myself in the cesspool of negativity that some fans are finding permanent daily residence in just yet. I hope the club aren’t either.

My response was purely that clubs can’t talk to Eseh without permissions but apparently Warrington are front runners for his signing.

If you believe all of the above then you are very naïve. Clubs may not be allowed to speak to a player directly but talking to their agent is not an issue especially as most agents handle multiple players. All clubs do it and I am sure we have in the past so no point playing the "Holier that thou" card.

You may be right about agents but if a club openly approached a player under contract they would be fined or worse.

They should be hence why they speak to the agent, its not like conversations between clubs and agents are recorded.

It will more be a case of the agents of all our in contract players approaching other clubs looking for expressions of interest should the expected happen rather than the other way round. To be honest any agent wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't have contingency plans for their clients. It's not the same as a club directly approaching a player which would indeed be illegal.

I get that but I was responding to the comment that Wire are front runners for Eseh. Suggesting some level of talks had taken place.

Well they will get more use out of the screen than we will next season.

Between his agent and other clubs yes they have done unofficially and from what I have heard, unofficially the contract offered by Wire is better than any of the other unofficial contracts offered by other clubs.

It’s now developed into rumours of contracts offered to the players agent. That can’t be right at all. Surely notification of interest can be acknowledged but contracts offered seems treacherous waters are being tread if this is true.
