| Surely it is much easier for the away support if they don't have to rush home from work and brave the madness that is the M62 on a Friday evening?

| Don't we play Catalan away on the following Friday? So I suppose it's all about the 'short turn around' for this game if we played the cup game on Sunday.

What will an extra 2 days do for our preparation? What will Pep Applegarth do to maximise the advantage?
Playing on a Sunday and maximising convenience for the fans is not high on the list of priorities I don’t think.

| I’m fed up of Friday night games.
We used to absolutely love Sunday afternoon games.
- no pressure on travelling home or away.
- generally warmer and brighter summer rugby through day
- can make plans both before and after. (Used to have a few beers or food).
- could take the kids (next generation of fans). Can’t take my 6 year old as she gets tired come 9-9:30pm. How’s this helping bring the next gen of fans?
There’s the other benefits for clubs of not using the energy for lights etc on a night.
I honestly can’t fathom why we’ve moved away from Sunday games last few years. Its a hugely negative move and whenever I see any social media posts about it the majority seem to agree.
It seems to be the decision from up top. If it were a club decision I’d be moving games back to weekends.

Sky money. They need the weekend slots for ad revenue and Premier League so RL will always be second fiddle.

But didn’t we just used to play our games on Sunday but if on sky Fri/Thurs (only 2/3 games a season for us).
Why have we now moved all games this season to Friday? (I think we only have one Sunday game all season). If it’s a club decision I can’t say I’m in agreement with it

| The sky game should be the only one on Friday night then there is no competion.. Sky viewing figures would be better hence a better sky deal. Clubs would not be competing with TV so bigger crowds. Or is just to please sponsors?

I have a 5 year old and 2 year old. Like you say it’s really difficult to get to some of these games isn’t it.

| It's for corporate. It's easier to sell Friday night games, incorporate them as a work's do or to entertain clients etc.

Yes I have heard the same. However If my company had important clients, right now I would not want them to sample the Trinity entertainment experience at the moment.

Following the lead of many other SL clubs.
I can usually get half a dozen or so colleagues, with no affiliation to Rugby, to join me at a Friday night game but none of them would commit to a weekend afternoon match. I must admit I prefer to attend weekday evening games rather than ruining weekend family get togethers (although I do when necessary).
When I worked shifts I also found it easier to do weekday swaps than Sunday ones.

Some actually enjoy the skills of our opposition though when they attend as neutrals.

Exactly, no one wants to do a "works" thing on a Saturday or Sunday.
Our corporate side always seems to do well, I don't know where we would be finance wise without it.

Massively, my 6 year old is actually showing interest! I bought her her first season ticket and she wants to go but her seats been empty last few games because it’s just not ideal for young children.
It may be fine for some of the current generation but in the long term the club will suffer. Bring back Sundays I say.

| Most games in The Championship are on Sunday - Bongser knows as he has watched most of his live RL at that level. It's quite enjoyable; the rivalries are there though different ones. Going down isn't that bad

| Barring three previous seasons (TWO if you discount 2021 when the established SL clubs elected to cut out a chunk of Leigh's share of the TV money and split it amongst themselves) Leigh have had bo0gar all central funding. We do not own our stadium and have to pay the "rent boys". Where's all Wakey's pennies gone? Maybe ask an accountant!

We don't have any pennies. That's the point. Crowds aren't big enough and we don't have backers to give us extra.
I take your point about going down a level. Our promotion season was one of my favourite ever.
But I also remember going to the bottom end of that league and getting beaten in some pretty horrible places by pretty poor teams.
It's only good when you are on the up.
