On the video it shows Proctor pulling him down by the shoulder in a grab motion. Whether his arm copped the wire player on the chin can’t be seen which is why there’s no point of contact mentioned on notes like usual. I still believe that at absolute most it’s a yellow if there was contact. I’d be very surprised if a player didn’t go for a HIA with a swinging arm to the face.
Also, last year it was a straight red for straight contact to head
(Looking at the video you can see the hand of Proctor come across the shoulder so I’m not convinced this was the case). This season they seem to have relaxed on it somewhat again imo watching the games on sky etc with most contact with the head being a penalty and a yellow. Pretty sure even some direct ones.
Anyway it doesn’t really matter I suppose as he’s free to play which is good as by the sounds of it he had a good game and played well at Wire.
Shame that red card was ultimately the difference in the end.
