| There seems to be a connection between the number of times a club is on TV and how rich the club is. Thus is so unfair. It means rich clubs get richer. I am sure that you can get more sponsorship if you are on TV regularly. Trinity are only currently on TV four times next season. Two home and two away. Never on c4. St Helens are on 12 times. It can't be to do with how successful a team was last season because Warrington are on 9 times.

| Probably something that comes hand in hand.
Success = more TV time = more money = better players = even more success. Rinse and repeat.

| But why do Warrington get so many TV games. They were rubbish last year. Our TV games were more entertaining then ours. Plus they get c4 exposure. Something we haven't had yet

| In all fairness , the state of our ground during the on going up grade could have been a factor. Once completed we may get more exposure

It’s certainly not based on finishing positions as stated Warrington this season and Leeds last season puts an end to that.
Not quite sure how it’s decided. Maybe ratings based.

We played Warrington on Ch4 last year before we played them in the cup
Tv games are boring same teams play each other on tv all the time and sky commentary is so bad I’d rather not watch. Surely the split on tv should be equal given the video ref could have an impact on some results too

Granted they had a terrible first year under Powell, but generally they are a top 4 side who have also won the challenge cup twice in 10 years.
I don't like it but Saints, Wigan and Warrington will continue to get more TV time in the next few years compared to the likes of us. All down to success on the field and then your ground, hopefully having a sy new Belle Vue will bump us up a couple of games next year. Especially when you take in consideration next years top 6 finish and Challenge Cup run

| There’s a point above that I agree with.
TV games should be equally split. If we are wanting to grow the game and for all clubs to strive and grow towards an A licence then there should be equal opportunity to do so.

There is no 'should be'. Tv company will pick based on potential viewing figures and advertising.
Like it or not we are not top of that list.

we are an unfashionable club but the ground is a start
Improved performances on the field are needed as well.
Hopefully the signings we all hope are coming soon (?) will get us up the table!

| The ground improvements will make a big difference, having a fixed screen and comfortable place for the commentators.

I thought the commentators would still be in the west stand or would that just be the camera’s?

Agreed, I think it’s always been a factor.
Same applies to Salford all be it for different reasons. There ground looks like it’s hosting an Academy game, new and shiny it may be but nobody wants to see that.

| Its based on how many people tune in, typically more people watch matches involving the bigger clubs with larger support. Trinity are a small drawcard unless it became car crash tv with a relegation fight.

I do not watch S L matches on T V same 6 teams on every week .Better get use to it as that is all you will get when we get grade A Teams .Got to admit if it was not Australian R L, Darts and Cricket would not have Sky Sports. Can not stand sports were there is glorified cheating and that is what R L in this country is turning in to .As you can guess will not be watching Football W C now that is a sport that stinks big time

If we can start to win a few, playing "attractive" RL, neutrals will enjoy watching (much easier said than done.
Equally, if we show up well against some of the more fancied sides, this too will make people tune in or, better still, turn up and watch.

| Is there actually any separate payments for being televised? I presumed it's just part of the Sky Sports deal and, as such, just shared out equally amongst the clubs. Advantages of not being televised include bigger attendance and control of match day. Only advantage, unless there is extra income from SKY , is improved exposure for sponsors and players themselves.
Wonder which MC/JM prefer?

Two teams you've mentioned here, both fantastic stadia and both playing to full houses every home game, add to that both were expected to have very good seasons last year, ideal for marketing the Sky product, without hindsight did you expect both clubs to have bad seasons, although in Leeds case they did come good in the end.
