Just read that we can turn up tomorrow at 11am and get some of the turf prior to it being ripped up. Must not be feasible for the club to get it professionally rolled up and sold.

Yes, JM is on record saying, the new pitch will be laid in the off season, it is a hybrid pitch of 90% grass and a synthetic underlay, with new drainage and irrigation systems.
When I left the Rollin shack after today’s Friday lunch, I noticed two very large piles o sand in the car park the players use, I was told by another chap who was there that the sand was to be used as part of bedding for the new pitch. That’s quite plausible to me.

I've heard that the sand was for the players, buckets and spades at the ready.

Shared a pleasant morning with a good turn out of fans. Had the opportunity to try out that new seating in front of the hospitality block which I must say is pretty decent under the sunshine. Another chance to chat and say thanks to the guys who are leaving too.
Then we got let loose onto the pitch. I got a couple of strips of turf and have already laid them into my back lawn.

On Saturday I was expecting to see Bathy rocking in a corner when they removed his beloved pitch.

I would doubt it the way they were taking the top surface off on Saturday.

Went down to BV today for the bus to Saints, the crews were still working on the pitch, and dumping soil to one side. I hope they are not being paid double time working Bank Holiday, we’ll have no money left
