The amount of vitriol following 'that photograph' on St Helens official twitter page has been shocking.

Chairgate.

I'm sure it is.......and over the top.
However, it is a pretty bad image for the club. We should do something about that.

Surely the new stand will incorporate some dug out/player facilities?

If only we were currently making improvements to the ground ...

I guess so......but having a bunch of randomly placed chairs in the meantime is not a good image.
Especially as this isn't part of the refurbishment area.

I often disagree with you but you are right about this.
I also feel that West side is by far the worst part of the ground and as far as I know there are no plans to do anything for sometime if ever.
Its great that we are having a fantastic new stand but anyone sitting in it ,that West side will be right infront of them. It will still give the impression that a major part of the ground is not up to standard.

Finally that part of the ground has terracing too shallow and impairs viewing. You have to walk through the filthy surrounding streets to get access. Although the general state of the grounds surround is beyond the clubs influence. Nevertheless we insist the away supporters are subject to such a negative experience there is little wonder we get such negative comments.

That picture wasn't an accident.

It was done for a reason.

It was done to undermine and embarrass the club, knowing full well that over their shoulder, the new stand development is ongoing.

There have been suggestions that certain clubs are deliberately undermining other clubs, ahead of the IMG review; Hudds undermining Catalans for example. They want more of the pie for themselves.

Is Chairgate another example of these underhand manipulations?

Not being on Twitter or Facebook so what’s the problem with the chairs ?

First things first, new main stand with everything in it and improving the north stand for the loyal Trin fans. Think West terrace will be last I’d imagine there would be a section of the new East Stand for away fans if they want to sit down. Hope we do eventually sort the western terrace, a Salford City fc style stand would fit nice.

Up the Trin

It isn’t performance related but I hope that is raised on Wednesday. Just to see what the thoughts of those higher up are, and if they are as embarrassed as us.

I put on another thread what a cynical awful club Saints have become.

Am I alone in thinking Saints celebrations were way OTT after the win, I felt they were mocking our lads. No way was it such a big win for them that it required the response they gave. That club has no decorum at all.

They’re a very arrogant club with a very arrogant set of fans, especially that <removed> Mav on twitter.

Those old portacbins on breeze block legs must have been up there at least 30 years. Its like looking at an unkept alotment. They just look an old cheap bodge job. The grounds looks would be massively improved if they were demolished. It would cost little to do this and could be done whilst East stand is levelled. How on earth such a structure can be tolerated in a sports ground of a proffesional club in these modern times is beyond belief .

Alternatively they knew they'd been in a game and celebrated the win. Every single Saints player congratulated our players and stood chatting after the game.
It doesn't always have to be a conspiracy against us.
