| Further to the rumour last week regarding Kheirallah, I've just been told that Jonathan Ford has now left Toulouse ??
Apparently it has been reported on Twitter but I've just googled it but can't find anything, so has anyone else heard this ??

| Found this on the Hull Daily Mail site....
[iBy mutual agreement, Toulouse Olympique XIII and Johnathon Ford have decided to terminate the player's engagement with immediate effect.
The Australian half leaves the club for family and personal reasons.
During his eleven seasons at the TO, Johno played 190 games and scored 53 tries. As captain in 2021, he was a real leader and was able to get the best out of his teammates, which made him grow and earned him the title of Championship best player for the 2021 season according to the poll. annual report of the English daily newspaper League Express.
The entire Toulouse Olympique team is grateful for his contribution to the club's history and wishes him the best for the future.[/i

| The six nations didn’t help because England for example are going to France and Italy without their unvaccinated players. They have an entire league to cover their absences we do not plus MC is correct we play them in the second game but the longer the season goes the more chance that France will remove the restrictions.

| Poor Bloke did all the hard yards in the championship and and finally gets a crack at super league and this happens...
surely they cant compete against super league sides and will go straight back down.
if i was wakey i would look at ford - he can play anywhere from 1 back row ,halfs ,centre ,fullback but i think he might be a quota spot ?

I think your sympathies might be somewhat misplaced here, if it's covid related won't Wakefield have the same problem as Toulouse ? Incidentally due to the uncertainty over the league format next season I'll settle for them going straight back down.

| I doubt it unless he is off quota which I believe he isn’t because he was offered to all clubs but most had already filled the available spaces.

Unlikely I would say given these lads are leaving due to the issues around their anti vax stance which I believe Rocky potentially shares.
Any team being weakened, particularly ones at the lower end of the table, by departures is good for the Trinity but I must confess I think it is a shame it is over something like this. Ford has been their talisman for a number of years. I was really looking forward to seeing how he coped with the step up as he is in my opinion a really quality operator.
They are not going to be in a position to replace these lads at shot term either so I would expect Giggot to be given a run at 6.

Fev Chairman quoted as saying they have been in talks with Josh Dugan, and whilst he had turned them down short term it was a possibility he could come mid season so I assume they must still have quota space.

There's no quota in the Championship. Think Leigh already have about 9 overseas players and they have spoken about the issues if they get promoted and can't keep them all.

Not sure I understand the congruence in thinking calling a 29year old Jacob Miller being ‘past it’ and advocating a 32year old Jonathan Ford as a replacement

His post just proves what most of us already know, this poster is a fake.
As you say the Miller for Ford bit is hilarious even without the ages issue. Anyone who actually watches Trinity will know that Miller is a better player now than he’s ever been. That doesn’t make him a world beater but it makes the accusation that he’s past it pure idiocy.
If I could replace Miller with better then reluctantly I would and that applies to them all but in his case I don’t see any available even close to our budget.

I watch Trinity and can't possibly agree with the 'Miller is a better player..' comment.
He's been pretty poor for the last couple of seasons imho.

| I’d say Miller has upped his game if anything and his defence is top notch and really puts himself about . Im Pretty sure the partnership with Lino will pay dividends the longer they play together.

Well don't then but he has in the opinion of most, not least the Wigan coaching staff!
He's lost some pace but if you think that's what makes a great player then you carry on watching the game your way and I'll carry on my way.
FWIW, Miller looked better a few years back because he had Finn who complimented him brilliantly, he had no luck with Brough, which is not unknown but looks promising with Lino.
You have to accept players for what they are, Miller is a great support player and a good player in broken play. When making plays he tends to hesitate, he's not decisive enough to be a true playmaker and he comes undone when he tries. Horses for courses I suppose but pound for pound we won't find better.

Correct.
His pace has gone but the rest is better.
His defence is superb, sure he misses a few but put into context as to how many he makes and on what players he makes them he's excellent.

He has also developed the habit of causing the opposition carrier to drop the ball as he tends to direct his contact at the ball quite often.

Yep, he did it to one of Fevs bigger players.
I really like Miller these days as he's made the best of himself.
I honestly think that if there is any validity in sports psychiatry he'd benefit. For me, he's definitely got what golfers call a 'Yip' in his game. He does everything right and then in the last moment loses his nerve. Thus he shapes up for the long pass then suddenly he drops it short, normally to poor old Ashurst who thought he was the dummy runner, ditto with kicks, it's on but then it's either way too short or too long. Obviously, this doesn't happen every time but it's often enough to stop him from reaching his true potential. If he could banish that from his game then he'd be a brilliant all-around player.
In fairness to Miller, that's the difference with all players at all levels, total self-belief is an uncommon gift or curse.

No issues with his pace or support play. It's his decision making, dire kicking game and poor defence which let him down. His pet play of the flat (usually forward) suicide pass into traffic also irks me as it seems he cannot stop himself from trying it. At 29 with his experience I expect a little better.
