I must have missed the news that Tupou can’t recover from his injury. I do know it was a bad one. If he is then surely we would look to agree some release but I think it would be up to Tupou if he feels he can go again.

Arundel and Greensmith aren’t signed for 2022. Not sure they need to be either. With 4 options presently for centre spots.

It’s not whether he recovers but whether he recovers in time and well enough to justify a new contract at his age.

Tupou will be fit and available for the start of the season and is under contract next year so won’t be going anywhere without a pay-off. I’d guess now Arundel might get a new deal and the money will go towards a prop.

As Mr Carter said we're do we get a prop from there are none available ,this is why Klepi (sorry if I got is name wrong) is playing at prop and not second row ,And a Australian prop as got to have played a lot more matches of first team Rugby before they can come across to play SL .Think it is 75 games

I was thinking along the lines that he may not recover, not an injury expert. If he can fully recover great but I’m not sure he ever recovered from the last one.

If he can’t fully recover then perhaps a deal to pay off or get him a transfer.

I know I’m being hugely mercenary here but when it comes to overseas players we simply can’t afford to carry players in the hope they get fit and on form in time like you can with domestic players.

Heard this earlier in the year, he`s a strange one, he was brilliant when he first came over then went missing for a couple of years on the field and seems to now have picked some form back up, the cynic in me says that's because he is after a contract. I do though see him as a second rower that can fill in at prop, he wouldn`t be my option but if we are struggling, he would be better than not signing another forward imo.

Wigan have just signed 2 props who have played less than 20 NRL games so I don’t think that is accurate.

Also I think they will get a permit if they have played international rugby. Now I appreciate they won’t be picking up Aussie Internationals or Kiwi front line props, however lads that are playing for the likes of Fiji, Tonga, PNG, and Samoa etc would get permits should they apply for them.

There are quite a few of those lads not playing NRL but in the NSW and Queensland Cup.

I don’t think it’s a case of paying him off, as I believe that still counts towards the cap.

I appreciate it would be a possibility to open up a quota space, with finances so tight I don’t think that would be a path the club could go down, unless he was medically retired in which case he would receive an insurance pay out which I don’t believe would be covered by the cap.
