They are not the quality of the Wigan teams of previous seasons but sadly we are the same quality as we have been for the previous two seasons.

Nightmare for people working on a fri to get across the Pennines and m62 , must be losing shed loads of money on away fans by not playing on a Sunday when you can make a day of it instead of taking your life in your hands on a mad dash in rush hour over the border

It didn’t used to ,it was a family day out on a Sunday for away supporters ,you wonder why the game is on its Harris . Used to see boat loads of buses parked up on sugar lane with away fans not so long ago ,now your lucky to see one or two . There’s me thinking RL was into the family entertainment business ,shows how much I know or the people running the sport for that matter .

It's all about the corporate stuff these days, which is massively better on a Friday evening (after work) than trying to persuade people to give up their Sunday afternoon.
It's no coincidence that there is us and Cas ? who still play home games on a Sunday.
Also, playing regular Fridays is less disruptive when games are moved for the TV..

It doesn't matter what day you play Monday to Friday it's just as busy either way at that time, A lot of clubs prefer Fridays for they're corporate side and seemingly prefer that to relying on away fans turning up, I think Wakefield's preference is normally Sunday unless the Sky scheduling dictate differently, the lack of buses on Sugar Lane nowadays is unfortunately down to the lack of interest in the game full stop, difficult to judge because of Covid 19 but prior to the last season and a half tell me one club with an increase in attendances, good luck.

"2 years ago we travelled to Wigan for the championship semi final on a Friday evening. We set off a 4 pm (no jokes about the bus) and only just made it for the 19-45 kick off. The scary thing was there were no accidents or road works, just solid nose to tail traffic all the way.

All these late night mid week games do is alienate a whole generation of family’s that are the life blood of the game ,because without these kids watching and getting hooked ,there is no future in our sport .Looks like my grandkids will never get to see an away game at Wigan,saints or the wires ,and that’s shameful really turning their backs on the away fans . More to the point how bad do pitiful attendances look on sky to the wider public when you see pockets of fans spread about in a huge stadium .Now the World Cup has for all intents and purpose imploded its going to be even harder to get newbys through the turnstiles.When you get the likes of Kevin sinfield walking away from the game he has out his heart and sole into you know things are bad.
