It seems a Salford have missed the deadline for naming their squad vs Trinity at 12 noon.

Since noon the have signed a short term loan Robson from wire which would appear they are unable to field a team?

Surely if they can’t name a squad by the deadline then they are obligated to forfeit ala Cas?

I thought there were rules in place. Anybody know how it works?

Looking back they are always a few hours late announcing there squad, just because they haven`t published on Social media, doesn`t mean they haven`t confirmed with the RFL either I guess.

To be honest, Salford only look 1 or 2 players from full strength unless I am missing something.

It will be a tough game for us I think, they haven`t been a million miles away and they will be desperate for the win.

I thought Inu was serving a four month club ban so I think like last week with our squad some are down just to make the numbers.

2 months, and it seems he will play.

Sarginson, Watkins, Burgess, Brown, Ikakihifo, Greenwood, Lussick, Wells & Mossop all likely first 17 players missing for them. They’ve still some talent there but last week they were way off and bar a couple of games have looked that way most of the season.

Short turnaround might be a big factor in this game

Krishan Inu was banned by the club for 2 months and fined. The RFL decided not to bring it's own sanctions as they were happy with Salfords punishment yet, if he plays, he will have served less than a month?

Exactly my thoughts. Seems an underhanded way to reduce the potential punishment from the sporting body. That’s if he plays.

As stated though it’s a short turnaround for Salford and they are missing a number of players. We must go in confident yet determined.

He’s not actually played since he made the comments on the 7th May i think, the punishment was announced a month afterwards. He’s probably a week short, if he plays.

Yep, just had an email form Salford confirming game off, with automatic refund "in 3 - 10 days".
Although I have sympathy with the covid cases, with their injuries and suspensions they will be delighted to be able to call this off.

Maybe we should follow the example of RU and award a 24 - 0 result, whether the absentees are covid related or not ?

Rugby league is getting to be a total joke, the people running the game are a laughing stock and will eventually make the game irrelevant

While I’m sure nobody wished to get a Covid this works perfect for them in terms of postponing a game against relegation rivals (the way they will see it) missing 4 players through suspension and a couple of injuries. We are also in good form so that will be stunted.

The thing that annoys me is we lose the advantsge if facing a depleted Salford team through suspension and injury.

Seems like Castlrford will benefit from those now .... lucky Cas.
