Following the latest round of Betfred Challenge Cup and Betfred Super League fixtures, the Match Review Panel have issued the following sanctions:
Josh Griffin (Hull FC) – Grade C Dangerous Contact – 2 Match Penalty Notice
Liam Hood (Leigh) – Grade A Dangerous Throw – 0 Match Penalty Notice
The following players were handed cautions:
Nathan Peats (Leigh) – Dangerous Contact
Tinirau Arona (Wakefield) – Other Contrary Behaviour

Must have been for throwing the ball at the Leigh player head, after the tip tackle.

But Hood gets away with nothing for the throw itself?

How come Ashurst got 2 matches? The one on Arona looked more dangerous to me.

It was more dangerous. Arona got pile drives into the floor by his neck and was clearly aggravated so threw the ball and not even that hard at the Leigh player and receives the similar punishment.

There is no difference to the Ashurst one. In fact Arona one may be slightly worse as he really hit the ground with some force.

Luckily head injuries, dangerous tackles and player safety aren’t high up on the agenda unless the panel feels like it.

Incredibly inconsistent.

Arona was actually quite lucky because he was very near the referee when he threw the ball fortunately it was an accurate throw.

Funny you say that because when my missus watched the highlights she was convinced that the ball hit the ref!

The replays show he did hit the ref...I'd say he was very lucky, both during the game and after

On the plus side, that ref - with some of his [i"decisions" [/iwouldn't have noticed......

Liam hold is fortunate in playing for Leigh, had it been Wakey, then yes, he would have got 2 matches !!!!!
Of that statement, evidence of the panels behaviour is proof defacto !!!!
