I wonder how you perceive this if you're a teammate, or a Catalans supporter, who happens to be gay; having said that, he also said that “drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolators” would go to hell; which probably manages to include pretty much every RL player and fan the world over - I'm certainly guilty of 4 or 5 of this things on that list for starters. I'd be very afraid of eternal damnation, if it actually existed.

This is a free society where free speech is part of the deal. You discriminate against him because of his beliefs, you're no better than he is. The good thing is you and the gay community are free to say what you want right back at him when he plays, that's how it works. The person most likely to be made to feel most uncomfortable is the guy himself, especially at some of the more intimate RL grounds where you hear every word.

When did we lose perspective on free speech and free opinion? You can't have your cake and eat it (Megan and Harry style), you have to take the rough with the smooth, its life.

History is littered with people who were allowed to speak freely and then went on to carry out unspeakable horrors. it starts somewhere and others are right to challenge his views.

Wrong in my opinion. It takes all voices to make free speech work not just the ones you like. Some of the most righteous sounding people on earth are utterly vile under the skin and that's how they get away with it, they hide in plain sight.

He is, like the rest of us, entitled to believe whatever he wants and nobody can prevent you thinking whatever you want.
However, when someone is advocating the stuff that he put on a public forum (twitter) then, for me, he's gone a long way over the line.

Saying that the bushfires in Aus were sent as punishment for gay sex and marriage, wont endear him to too many over there either.

As I said in a different post, some Cas fans were ejected and banned for saying far less offensive stuff and it's quite bizarre that any employer would want someone with such open bigoted views on their payroll.

People don’t agree with his views and that’s fair enough and I believe Super League have issued the perfect statement in relation to this signing publicly condeming it.

I’m torn on this one. Folau’s views are despicable and (as they’re based on the supposed teachings of an imaginary being in the sky - in my opinion) utterly stupid.
But I’m uneasy with banning people and things we disagree with. At least we know what he thinks and, if we want to, we can counter his views at matches in whatever way we think appropriate. If he gets a load of stick at every away match (and home matches too hopefully) it could actually prove what we all think about RL being inclusive and welcoming.
