| To be honest I can’t decide if that ship has sailed or not... people saying Pitts again and also Capewell.

| I think Capewell is outside our budget, he is too much in demand in down under for us to match them.

| Of the rumoured, looks most like Pitts to me - But who knows, could be a name that has not been doing the rounds.

I'll go with that.
Everything so far has followed the rumours from the end of the season.
Pitts would be favourite or, maybe Tangatta ?

| Pitts came of age at London and at 29 he's at his peak, easily two good years in him. He's another versatile long minutes player, will go well and fits into the clubs ethos IMHO. Looks to me like Tanganoa and Arone will probably be used more as front-rowers than back, positions both can handle.
Good signing but not a surprise.

| I'm happy with this one.
Proved a good player for London and is clearly a leader on the field too.

| don't want to seem like i am being too negative, and Pitts is a solid super league player, but i feel like we have enough cover in the back row. Seems like we may be going for quantity rather than quantity here. His wage could possibly have gone towards the signing of a top player who would improve the quality in the squad?

I'm in a similar boat with you mate, I think last year was worrying and say we don't have as many injuries and our strongest players start, where will this leave Pitts? IMO we have better players in each position Pitts could play.

Well you're a financial expert so I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be a coaching one to boot

Would be disappointed if so. Westerman will be 13 so that would mean Tanginoa playing prop which I feel would be a waste.

Going by Chesters interviews he mentions arona and TANGINOA don't stints at prop. Going for a mobile pack. Tbf it's been a while since we had a prop busting holes in the defence..

Don't see the problem, Tanginoa is a battering ram who makes yards, Pitts is a wide running ball player, very different styles.
Remember Ashurst is coming back from a very serious injury, it must be touch and go as to how well he recovers, ditto Arona. Take those two out and Kirmonds semi-retirement and suddenly we look a bit thin on the ground, Pitts covers that IMO.

Agreed think we have good cover in most positions.. With 2 quota spots free obviously depending on finances and how much we have spent up to now would like to see an out and out prop and Hooker. Hopefully with the Toronto extra money we have some avaible. Ikahihifo would be a good option at shuddersfield.

Personally think Tanginoa was much more effective when he was playing a bit wider was the point i was trying to make. Fast for a big lad as well.
Ashurst, Kirmo, Batch, King, Crowther, Westerman, Arona, Arundel, Tanginoa, Atkins, Aydin, Gwaze - all capable of playing that role. So no still think it's a position where we're not thin on the ground.

I know that he got injured but Fifita played most of last season and punched plenty of holes in opposition defences, as did Pauli, although he didn't seem to like the defensive side of the game.
The problem last season is that we ran out of fit starting props.

The second rows in that list are
Ashurst, Kirmond, Batch, Tanginoa.
The rest can cover...... That's not the same.

| Just read our favourite local weekly rag and there is a quote from Chessie saying "I am looking at a top quality signing from the NRL, that'll compliment the side"....sounds promising

| We are going for quantity over quality .Tanginoa as been the best second row player i'v seen at Wakefield for a long time .To play him at prop is a waste
