I just don`t get this comment and opinion many seem to have, the amount of time he runs lateral to the defensive line and finds space to make a break is ridiculous and at times the season has looked like the only player capable of making a line break (Barring Hampshire probably) as the team just haven't created anything for the backs. Maybe we should coach it out of him and just tell him he can only run in a straight line into the defence? Maybe whilst we are at it we can tell big Dave not to skip across the defensive line as well?

Some times you have to go sideways to go forwards

Reece’s running was one of the key things that kept the team going especially as we lost key players

Even when we were playing terribly his strong carriers were one of the few areas we could count on
He’s such a handful to put down

Yes , a pointless and negative comment. Lynne runs sideways when the way forward is blocked and no space has been created by those inside him. Perhaps he should just run forward and take the tackle to keep his ‘haters’ happy.

Why. Reece is not the greatest centre who ever lived
I’ll concede that much. However the competition is sp to say the least, on his day he’s as good as any other British centre. I can’t see why he wouldn’t get selected especially if he plays well in the next three games. Fingers crossed.

Why? He was good enough for the England squad last year. Haven’t seen any additional english centres coming to the fore this year. Wouldn’t get a starting berth but a big squad will be going. Might get a shot at the PNG match.

So out of interest which English centres are above him? Stats alone suggests not very many. You could call him the best of a bad bunch of you wanted to be derogatory but I’m suggesting just that in as nice a way as possible.

Lynes not even the best English centre at Wakefield. Imo of course.

Would expect Gildart and Percival to be 1st choice pair. Then, even without playing the likes of Connor, Currie and Bateman out of position I guess Sarginson will still be favoured by the selectors.

Reece is a nice honest guy & at his best is above average & is a very good club man. The problem is that quite rightly in some people's opinion he is rated as great or the best english centre at the moment !! ??
There is no Aussie test centre of NZ centre running sideways as he does, also the current first choice english centres do not, even for their clubs, they are direct, take the tackle & try to ptb a.s.a.p.
Reece needs this side wards running out of his game.
Wayne Bennett would not put up with all that side wards running in a test match !
Equally, none of his other players do it. Before anyone points out his stats, think of he wiped this aspect out of his game, then his stats would go up further !
However I like his honesty & his continued trying !

Apart from the fact I'm pretty sure no one thinks he's the best British centre at the moment,
And apart from the fact Bennett has picked him already in squad and test match.
And apart from the fact that taking his cross field running out of his game would not necessarily increase his yards as he would be running at a man not a gap
And apart from the fact that only 4 people in the league who supposedly just run straight have better yardage stats
And apart from the fact that other players do it when the defense has come across to block their way and he doesn't always do it a la his break at Hull KR

Possibly but tbh Arundel has barely played this year so can't really be counted imho, certainly far more unlikely for GB selection than Lyne
