| Annakin has been at Wakey for as long as i can remember. He’s been in and out through loan or injuries but whenever he plays he gives 110% and never seems to let us down. His attitude and performances in the last month or so is exactly what we need. Passion and desire for the Trin shirt. Yet seemingly at the end of the season he’s on his way out of the door from Chester’s recent pressers? What do people think for me it’s aerror by the club. Much rather have someone who gives there all and is proven than players who don’t have any feeling either way if we lose or win and are a risk at SL level.

Chris was one of the best wide running loose forwards around coming out of the academy, unfortunately coaches now see 13s as extra battering rams and haven’t used the talent he had, all coaches seem frightened to play any different and it leads to the bore fest which is rugby league. The question is, is he better than what we’ve got, I think so hel give you everything

| I absolutely agree that he'll give everything. The question is, is his everything good enough.
It can't just be about desire. If it was I'd be playing on Sunday.
It's interesting that on the HKR game thread, no one is putting him in the team. They are saying go big and try to smash Rovers off the park. He isn't that guy.
I would keep him in the squad but he's only a squad player to me and would be either loaned out or playing reserves. If he asked my advice I'd probably say he was better off being a bigger fish at a lower club and showing his true worth.

| if I think of him, my mind brings up images of him running very hard before being put on his back by someone much bigger. It might be that he just doesn't have it. It might be that he would be better playing on the edges, the way Brett Ferres does, so his ball skills and pace can be used. If effort won games, he'd get a start every day, but sometimes you need that little bit extra.

| I thought Annikin would have made a great stand off with his strength & speed but he wanted to be a forward which to be honest he never had the size for (just my opinion)

| Anakin is a fine player in his own way, but if he's the answer to our problems then it's even worse than I thought.

| I think somebody mentioned earlier that as a youngster Anakin played a wide LF role. That's how I would have used him and coached him. Similar stature to Mike Lampkowski who was a big success in that role when he switched from Scrum Half.

Lampy didn't play wide though he went straight through the middle.
In the modern game he would be a world class Hooker in my opinion. Many people talk about Annakin the same way because of his stature but the difference is Lampkowski was a an England Rugby Union scrum half. He had incredibly accurate distribution as well as power in a small frame.
Annakin does have that level of skill.
It would have been interesting if he'd played Hooker in that under 19s team but I think that shop has sailed now as that role is too important to try someone out.

Sorry to correct you PT but Lampy scored many tries 'wide out' although it's correct to say he ran straight and hard at times.
I did hint in my post that Anakin could have been coached a little in that role, what level of skill Anakin has I have no idea because he has been used for a long as I can remember, down the middle.
You're right though about Lampy in todays game. I wish we had him now!
