For us to be at risk, Catalan have to win three more games than us out of the remaining five, as well as Hudds and Leeds win two more. Too unlikely.

For me, the dilemma will be the last game. If we are realistically out of touch for the top four, the thought of Hudds beating us to push Leeds into the middle 8's would certainly sweeten any loss.

As far as the middle 8's go, I'd be worried if I were a Widnes fan. What might rescue them is that Toronto's ill-discipline will cost them over seven games.

Massively agree with slugger. The bottom 4, aside from widnes, have all shown in parts that they're competitive super league teams. Salford in a slump, but otherwise widnes are being horribly left behind.

I'd also say the championship is really strong and competitive this year. That 11 game losing run must be damaging and I think it's inevitable that they'll be, at BEST, in the MPG. They'll not finish above any of the current SL sides.

Right now in a one off game I wouldn't back them to beat anyone.

I agree we should be looking up the table however I think if we'd have lost the Widnes game it would have been far too easy to get drawn into the fight with us playing St Helens this weekend, the 2 points gained gives us some breathing space.

I highly doubt it been that you are 4 points in front of 9th place, I would not exactly call that streets ahead.

I would look more at what the poster had to say about Widnes, rather than his opinion of Wakefield.

I have to agree that the MPG is the best outcome for them but personally i dont think that they will even make that. There are some really good teams around the top of the championship this year , most of which are full time as well.

Not sure why the bitterness towards Wakefield though?. I thought that sort of thing was usually towards local rivals.

To clarify my "streets ahead of the bottom 4" statement (not that I need to for rational people)

The bottom four sides have been inconsistent and haven't put a run of results together all season (except widnes who's record over the last few months has been as consistent as anyone's) and if anyone's going to be replaced in 9th by catalans, who are admittedly putting wins together, it's looking far more likely to be Leeds on current form.

Wakefield have been picking up wins with fair regularity, and realistically only need 1 win, or 2 at very most to be caught by the required 3 teams below them to displace them from the 8.

If wakey win 2/5 then all three teams below them will basically need to win 5/5 to drop them to 9th.

I'm not sounding like a Wakefield fan, that's just how it is when you look at the table

Just for clarity, when I asked if it was sensitive data or could it be shared publicly. Would a breakdown of who cost what be sensitive... Being told we're 365k under budget yet informative it still leaves us in the dark, hence why I was asking if it was available. I can imagine it would be very eye opening.
