| This is all becoming a real side show with at the end of it no winners. I feel for MC and CB as from what I read they have invested loads into the club. I feel for everyone involved at whatever level including players, officials and supporters.
Not one of you is going to like this but in order to save a great club for the rest of its days, A Ground Share has to be looked at NOW.
Settle down, think of the future.
Yes I am a Cas fan but I have always stated Wakefield are my second club so save the club. Realistically are there any winners in this and if Wakefield were to win in court I fear it would be to late for continuing SL status.
Sorry if this post offends

Simple. both clubs need a ground. It looks like there is only one option at the minute (Junction 32). If that is Castleford as tenants, so what. I'm sure financially MC can negotiate a better deal than that that is offered at the moment.
It is the Wakefield clubs future that has to be secured otherwise the next nail in the coffin will come from the RFL.

| People are going to have to stop sounding like they are delivering ultimatums or appearing to push people in to corners.
You realize its 50/50, or it ain't happnin, Wakey can stay handicapped to hell financially where they are, they don't need to go to Cas for it on the basis that they have no choice.
There are choices, one of them isn't playing 2nd fiddle in Glasshoughton, we both share the same Council, Cas are no more deserving than Wakey, whilst Glasshoughton is a massive compromise, its not unthinkable provided the footing is equal.
Dunno how that's gonna work though.

| Actually, now that you mention it, Glasshoughton is a massive compromise for one club, how much of a compromise is Newmarket for Cas, and how high would the will levels be to build it, if both clubs shared it

| Newmarket is 5.2 miles from the current home of both clubs, that is the only logical position for a groundshare. I'm sure it could be done on equal terms through the community trust too so that both clubs had equal benefit

| Have the club clarified where we will be playing next season.
88M say we have no tenancy at Belle Vue beyond January because Carter served notice to quit last January. So have the club arranged to play and operate from somewhere else have they begun clearing out the offices, made provision to resite the hospitality block etc etc
When I read Manny Hussain’s statement I still thought there was room for us to do a U-turn and stay at Belle Vue but there’seems to be zero chance of that now.
Once the deadline is passed I won’t be surprised if 88M padlock the doors and start charging the club for everyday that they still have buildings on their land.
Also, if their actions once securing the Super Bowl site is anything to go by they’ll have the demolition team in and start tearing things down straight away.

I've just nipped down to have a reccy at the stadium at junction 32 (i assume you mean M62?) but I couldn't find it. Could you be more specific about its location?

I assume your post is just a play on words and facts that you can dig up. I have no problem with that, a name is a name but Junction 32 is the junction off the M62.
However my original post is not meant to get at Wakefield or make Castleford in any way superior, hence me saying I don't want to upset anyone. From a Wakefield point of view it is very serious and time is running out. There should be no tit for tat, Your clubs future is at risk.

It is a valid point but I fear myself and many others wouldn't want to go watch Trinity play our home games in Castleford.
It would literally feel like we are the poor relatives and basically accepting hand outs from our nearest rivals.

| People have really short memories. When Newmarket was being considered Castleford were formally invited to share. They flatly refused and insisted they would not move one inch outside Castleford. I am sure if they had agreed then by now there would have been a joint stadium at Newmarket. The council would have then got behind the project. Also don't forget that when the PE started Castleford formally objected in writing !!!
Lets move this to the present time. Castleford now are getting their stadium for £1. None of the crap about trust, rent, leasing etc. They are basically getting a free gift.
The evil bunch running the council are taking the urine out of everyone when they expect us to believe a developer would give something for free without the council having backdoor involvement. This £1 has been forced on the developer by the council. A council in total control of Peter Box, a share holder at Castleford Tigers and a long life supporter.
If we shared any ground with them and Box was still in charge at the council. Then I can assure you all 100% that the deal and terms Wakefield Trinity would be offered would be the biggest pile of crap you would ever imagine.

Indeed and the proposed stadium at Jcn 32 will belong lock stock and barrel to Castleford.
The would take the utmost pleasure is stuffing us for rent (just as WMDC and 88M want to do at a revamped BV), and most Trinity fans would rather pay WMDC than help Cas become stronger.
Playing at Jcn 32 is an absolute non starter.

| Somewhere along the line there will have to be a compromise.
At the moment we haven't moved forward at all over the past 6 years and Cas in all reality are in the same position. There are two developers who will have to find £30+ million between them to build two stadiums and the Council is committed to £4million in contributions.
Glasshoughton may be ok for a stadium but will never have the community facilities which are promised to the people of Wakefield city & MDC. Newmarket has the capacity to deliver everything that is required. The likelihood is that neither ground will move forward in the next 5 years which leaves Trinity extinct and Cas in serious strife.
The compromise. Build a 20000 seater stadium at Newmarket along with all the promised community facilities to be funded jointly by the developers. The Council raises £30 million in "the City" in the same way Leeds Council have done for Headingley to allow development to commence immediately. Interest payments will be met from the Council's £4 million contribution so giving them an incentive to "encourage" Yorkcourt to make progress with their development.
If the interest payments are less than £4 million the council gains.
The Cas developer gains by having more land to develop.
Yorkcourt gain by having the opportunity to show they can behave in a civilised manner.
The clubs gain by being in a new stadium by 2019 season
The community gains the facilities it is desperate for.
Wakefield gains by retaining the community development work by Trinity
Cas gain by having a bigger, better stadium sooner.
The Community Trust would own the entire facilities with joint anchor tenants and between them they would establish a mechanism for funding maintenance and development of the site.
Everyone gains by avoiding court action.
Cas gain by retaining their equity in Wheldon Lane and by not suffering further delays whilst the Council fight a court battle.
MIchael Carter said that if he and Steve Gill had been in charge 10 years ago they would have a joint stadium by now.
There is still time.

| The comment about Carter and Gill is true and a great shame.
The previous chairmen made the share much more difficult when although I don't want it, is very logical.

The trouble with all the above is that it is a well thought out and grown up possible solution.
Unfortunately we have at the head of Wakefield Council a bullying unprofessional baby who has been left in his post for far too long. We don't have a prayer of sorting out a practical solution while ever his own personal agenda isn't called out for what it is by weak councillors that won't blow the whistle.
The sad thing is both Wakefield Trinity & Castleford Tigers will be the losers in all this just at a time when we have the foundations of a mutual respect at the helms of both clubs and performances on the field to make both sets of fans proud.

| Well that put paid to that JINJER, bigger fish to fry?
Don't know what that means but to me it is just a typical statement from an individual who thinks they speak for all.
My comments are only born out of thinking that the club maybe digging to deep, chasing this when time is running out and as I said maybe the RFL will be the next to stick the knife in.
There is a lot of sense talked about a ground share and I had not thought of the two developers working together.
The main thing is that both clubs survive. At the minute Castleford do not seem to have any issues, things are ticking along along, maybe slowly but moving.
To end my comment. I say you fry your big fish (whatever that is) but don't play the almighty and speak for all your supporters on this forum, some do talk rational.
All the best with your Agenda.

Are you spoiling for a fight?
What is my agenda that you accuse me of?
The Big fish for me is the whole sorry saga to be sorted, sharing will never happen, I'm speaking for myself here, all our involvement needs to be directed at a way forward for our club, not move in with you and have it lorded over us.
As for speaking for all, complete bollox, no one on here will claim I speak for all, it's not my way.
My bigger fish to fry.
The ground sorted, be it in court or out.
Survival of the club.
Are we gonna be relocated?
Could we be forcibly relegated?
How are the club selling the season passes on the back of the ground problems.
How are we gonna negotiate where we play next season given 88M's stance on this subject.
Much bigger fish than some pie in the sky idea that we should move to Glasshoughton. HTH

No spoiling for a fight. If I ever post on a site it is about RL. Wakefield is my home town but I have always supported Cas. To many consider one club to be bigger than the other so your statement "move in with you" is tosh.
Carry on the fight i agree because the whole saga stinks of corruption somewhere. All I am saying, and I'm sure MC thinks the same as do many of the season ticket holders, think about next season as well as the future.
Oh, I like anyone can toddle onto any site and raise a point. I am not stirring things up but obviously there are many that do.

| So, if your bigger fish fry up fails to provide a meal, what then?
We can't lose sight of other options, in fact we must actively seek them out whatever they may be because court action will be a Pyrrhic Victory and bring us no closer to having a ground to play in.
If you read my message again you will see that I an advocating a joint venture at Newmarket.
