Not bagging Grix here because he was great at the start of the season, however he has been average and looked tired for a number of weeks now. What I cannot understand is why Max hasn't been given a few games, especially after he played well in the win away at Salford in the league.

Anybody have any ideas? maybe he has spoken out of line or had a falling out with CC or JK?

The problem the coach has had was that apart from a couple of indifferent performances by Grix, he has been our most consistent player making it very difficult for Chester to drop/rest him in favour of Jowitt, it's been a long hard season for Grixy and chose how good you've been it's very difficult to maintain that standard over a season and while I don't have a problem playing him I can see the argument from fans wanting to give Max a go.
Last season he played well until the latter stages of the season and faded badly, maybe the same is happening with Grix, I'm sure Chester will know best but maybe it's time to give Jowitt a run out, the problem now being it's the most important part of the season and results matter more than most things.

You have to give Jowitt credit for biding his time and not crying out like the young Leeds fullback has done.

I rate Max a lot but Grix has the shirt and deserves to keep it in my opinion.
Watching him and Finn scheme at the scrum was great to see.
None of the issues against Sts were his.

Isn't it time to give Max a go and show a bit of faith? There's 7 massive games coming up...in the regular season those 7 fixtures brought two wins...Max played in one of them and we won it...Grix played in six of them and we only won one...

Should we drop Ashurst and give Crowther a go to show faith?
Annakin in for Arona too?
What about dropping Fifita so one of the young lads get a game?

It isn't under 10s where you need to make everyone happy. Best team plays. Always.

Jowitt is a more naturally gifted full back in my eyes and deserves a chance based on his ability, nothing to do with playing him to keep him happy at all...

His last performance for the team was an excellent one in arguably one of our best wins of the season...

Looking ahead to the seven games we have then we need to improve on what we've done so far...Jowitt in for Grix might just be one thing that could turn what was a narrow league defeat into a win in the super 8's...

Apart from the poor attempt at fielding the bomb on that try that took us past 15 behind. Generally I like him but I am afraid this bomb fielding is a fairly major issue

Yes our ability to deal with high kicks without Johnstone and Jowitt is a big issue. However, I am pretty sure that there were saints players offside when the kick went up and within the 10m when contested so we should have had a penalty

MCB and BJB are equally good at taking high kicks but a certain someone often gets in their way.

Getting back to Jowitt, he was unlucky not to get picked for the second Salford game after his superb display in the league game where we beat them.
Grix, along with a number of others, had a mare in the cup game but, that's all history.

I imagine that if we lose the next couple, Chester will start planning for next season and we may see some younger players on show but, for now, let's hope we can bounce back from yesterday and get a few more "W's", which would put us in contention for a top 4 finish !

It's been said that Grix has made a major difference to us defensively with his experience and organisation etc....is that such a big factor or are we just an all round better team and the guys in front are doing a much better job? If Max had played another half a dozen games or so would results have been similar or better?

All we can compare on with Max is the two games he's played against Salford and Warrington...

In 2016 we lost 34-16 at warrington and bettered that this season losing 22-20...and at Salford away in 2016 lost 38-8 and this year came away 34-24 winners...so with Jowitt in those two games we conceded 12 less and 14 less respectively...

I'd just like to add...I've nothing against Grix at all and think he's a quality player and been a great signing...just think there's a genuine case to at least give Max a game or two in the 8's...keep Grixy fresh and keep him on his toes and know he's not just a shoe in for a spot regardless of how he plays..

Personally I think Grix has made a big difference.

I'd be very disappointed if we ever lost Max but night now he is second in line. A close second but second all the same.

Reading Chissitt comment on Crowther is disappointing. I'd like to keep him.

Sounds like me the other week but ppl jumped down my throat Grox has been V poor the back end of the season. I'd be after that walker from Leeds quick time. Grix at fault for the makinson chip over yesterday positional sense none existent, we ain't had ball for 20mins then he puts a woeful kick on the 3rd tackle and they get the ball. When are ppl going to accept ngb4c is always correct. My take on the centres other week u lot go mad but as stated to get to the next level we need to step.it up Reece Lynn was pathetic yesterday was way out of his depth.

I thought at the time, and similarly for the James Roby rebound one, where the F is Grix?
